Did the All Access Tour on Allure last year. They take you to many places which are not open to the public.
Bridge, I-95, galleys, storage areas, engineering, etc.
Highly recommend.

I guess you have to look at this in perspective. What was it like for crew members in the Age of Sail in wooden vessels? What was life like for crew members in military all metal naval warships and vessels like destroyers, cruisers, battleships, carriers? It appears the owners and operators of modern recreational cruise ships gave a lot of thought and consideration to the health, welfare, and morale of their civilian crew members. Yes, the work hours are long, but life for crew members on modern day vast recreational cruise ships are far in advance of anything in the past.

Very nicely done!
Good job on showing the crew areas and providing details.
Glad to see they are decent-looking, the crew members deserve it!
Thanks for your great channel...

For life as a crewmember and behind-the-scenes on an RC ship I like the channel of Wanderlust Alley.

PLEASE READ!😢😢😢
I just returned from a seven day cruise on Wonder Of The Sea, and there are no words appropriate enough to fully convey how misleading Matt's testimonials are. I booked a cruise in February of this year, and the only reason I did was because of how Matt raved at how wonderful it was. From February all the way until our cruise in October, we watched every one of Matt's videos, and as each month's passed, we became more and more excited with anticipation. When the day finally arrived and we were going through the embarkation process we were truly amazed at how quickly and easily we were able to do so,even with the large amount of people arriving at the same time. Everything seemed to be perfect the first day, the room looked great, and the few staff we encountered were very friendly, and the visual aspect of the ship was awesome. It wasn't until we decided to go to the WindJammer restaurant for dinner the first evening that everything started to become clear. The vast number of choices that Matt describes in his videos were far from reality as you could get. They had multiple areas serving the same food, and the selection was terrible! The few times I've been to a Golden Corral, I've seen selections ten times better than what was offered on board The Wonder Of The Sea. The quality, selection, and taste of the food was terrible to say the least! Matt describes everything as amazing, and it truly is amazing, it's Amazingly Bad!
Another aspect of the dinning experience that Matt negates to express is the amount of people present at any given time. You will literally be walking elbow to elbow with some of the most rude and disrespectful people you've ever encountered. There is no sense of courtesy or respect for one another as people are pushing their way past you or over you to get to the food. Once you've made your selection and try to find a clean table, your food is cold! This experience is the same whether its breakfast lunch or dinner, and by the way, those enticing pastries and deserts Matt shows in his videos, are basically non existent! However they do have two basic donut options, one with white icing and one with chocolate, both unfortunately taste as though they are two or three days old. Its almost as if they intentionally make their food taste bad so that you will be forced to eat at one the specialty restaurant for an inflated price.
And trust me when I tell you that you will be glad to pay the extra cost just to have a half way decent meal to eat! The quality of their food on board does not justify the cost whether its specialty dining or what's included with the trip. The same goes for their drink package or refreshment package,i cant tell you the number of people that felt as though they were robbed by believing they needed to purchase any of those drink packages. You will never Ever drink the equivalent amount to justify the cost!
I honestly did not plan on writing as much as i did, my overall intention was to just make a quick breif statement at how misleading Matt's videos are, but i felt i had to elaborate somewhat so that hopefully all of you will have a better understanding on what to expect on your cruise with Royal Caribbean!
Also, once the cruise is over, and you're waiting to be told when to disembark, the ships staff have no patience or understanding to you or your needs, whether its a simple question or inquiring where a restroom is, they will address you with a very cold demeanor making it very apparent how unimportant your requests or need truly are. They have one objective, and that is to get you off their ship so that the new arrivals can board and they are not shy about being as rude as possible!

I hope this helps at least one person prior to spending thousands of dollars on a regrettable vacation choice, and if not, then dont be upset when you follow though and find out it is exactly the way I described it to be!

Regardless of what their quarters maybe like, it is far better than the country that they came from. Some 13 years ago we were on a 2 week med cruise with Royal Caribbean. It was our best cruise by far. My wife loved the young girl who took care of our suite that she was ready to adopt her & bring her home. Until I pointed out that she would be the perfect age for my mistress. I was kidding, but that ended my wife wanting to adopt this beautiful hard working young woman. You may think they are being used, but this life is far better than anything in their home country. Shalom

Noone working on these ships is telling the truth. They would be fired immediately.
I never once met a crew member who said it was a great job. All of them said it was miserable work with terrible clients, long hours and little sleep.

Blogger audio book reader RCCL think about this why would a paid passenger on holiday would pry into the crew member,s privacy passenger don,t really care about the down time of the crew who eat the same burgers like you and me they wear their pants with one leg at the time crew members are there to work to earn a living not on holiday if they have exceptional accommodation above normal rationing so be it people should mind their own business blogger try not to be a busy body / nosey parker

I have come across Bryan James shorts and this channel, and I am fascinated that people do this, it looks awful, yet his voice seems to give a positive outlook on what looks appalling dreadful, each to their own I suppose, It does fascinate me on what people will do & tolerate. I have even subscribed and I don't know why.

A crew on a cruise ship is like prisoner living you just get paid enough,if you choose to go shoreleave or attend crew parties then expect a shorter hours of rest or sleep😃otherwise you just do the 3 things on board, work, eat and sleep everyday for 8 mos.or more.

I just came from a Norwegian Cruise and after talking to some of our favorite crew, we were horrified of the 12 hour shits 7 days a week they now work due to crew cut backs. These crew members did not complain at all and were happy to have a job. I was very curious about their living conditions which is no way in comparison to Royal Caribbean apparently. Crew food is just okay (nothing like what is served to guests), cabins are small with only performers having a single cabin, and no time off to venture ashore. The crew bar also did not allow for liquor (only wine and beer). And while there was a huge LGBTQ+ crew population, the captain forbade any type of gay themes, including drag shows for the crew. After hearing all of this, among many other reasons, we will never sail Norwegian Cruise Lines again.

Far from secret crew areas if they were the crew would not know where their quarters are and certainly you and anybody else would not know. That is what secret is. Thought everybody knew the crew have their area below decks.

Single cabin for crew is almost impossible to get, only officers can get single cabin and maybe concessionaire. This good things that they represented here is 10% of real life on the ship, 90% is whole different story - small cabin for two, really bad food, to long working hours (12+ hour a day), not going ashore...

All Marine officers have single cabins with bathroom. 3 Stripe and up have cabins with a separate bedroom in addition to the bathroom. 4 stripe cabins usually have bedroom, kitchen, walk in closet, bathtub and a big living room with a dining room table. The last vessel I was on, my living room was at least 4x7 meter. Bedroom 3x3 meter, walk in closet, was only 1x1,5 Meter. Kitchen was small only, 1X1 meter.
