in an internet world obsessed with the most luxurious inaccessible foods, this is a reminder that the tastiest meals are always expensive

I've been there, I've sat at those little primary school kids chairs and mini tables hunched over a big bowl of pho made in what could only be described as questionable circumstances and you know what? Bourdain is fucking spot on. It's delicious, it's nutritious, it fills you up and fills you out, it's amazing. Can't wait to get back to Hanoi and Hoi An and gorge on some more with a tiger beer to wash it down.

Anthony has massively inspired me to travel the world and enjoy food from all cultures and scenarios!

Bourdain is one of those chefs that has truly improved my view of food and cooking. I owe him much. But this clip reminds me of the trite, mendacious nature of television shows like this: here is a man tormented by the demons of anxiety and depression, eventually taking his own life, telling his viewers the path to happiness. It is bullpucks like this that make me hate modern media.

At the time he shot this, I was living just a couple kilometers away and visiting this very spot daily. Bun Bo Hue was also my favorite dish in the world and so much of this episode was just so surreal. I was going through a rough and lonely time and upon watching this i felt a bit less alone and definitely a connection with Anthony and the way he lived his life and treated others. I always admire the way he experienced life.

I really miss him.

First night in Vietnam, had food poisoning and diarrhea for 4 days straight. Went home on the 5th. Got to know the toilets in Vietnam intimately
