My guess is I don't think people in wheelchairs are wondering why they aren't modeling. They got better things to think about and contribute to in society then showing off body parts.

Why is everything a thing now? Why is it necessary to place a model in a wheelchair? Isn’t this insulting to people in wheelchairs. Not something top of my list and so many things wrong today this is bottom of list for me.

My Cousin suffered from MS. The last thing on their minds is sexy clothing in a wheel chair…I got to thinking…more sex offenders target woman in wheelchair or are severely disabled. Wheelchair users should accept that they will never be the ideal representatives of products, that they are parenthesized and taken for granted. Therefore if there are special concerns applicable to paraplegics they will probably be unwittingly glossed over. Remember the ramp and the bathroom facilities issues and how long it took for people to become sensitized? (YEP, IT'S THE SAME KIND OF THING)

I don’t think Candace meant any ill-will toward that group of people. I do think that at the very least she could have been more careful in how she addressed it. We are talking about a group of people who are unable to care for themselves completely on their own, people who are stuck in this state for the rest of their lives, and there is nothing that can be done about it. Unless you deal with this type of illness, you couldn't possibly understand how that made Christina feel. Christina may even agree with Candace that the new idea for that isn’t necessary.

I agree with Candace about this, and I live with a chronic pain disorder that can be debilitating at times, and which causes other health issues. Fortunately, I am able to comfortably walk without any type of assistance more days than not. It's a mental and emotional struggle, especially on the days I must have someone help me do some of the most basic things. I don't have the same illness as Christina Applegate.

Well-meaning people can sometimes bring the most stress because they haven’t taken the time to read up on the illness and how it affects those who have it, before giving their two cents. It’s evident when they begin to speak.
