"Mixing is balancing. Working with no Tools..." Looks behind him 😮
ОтветитьWould love to show you the printout of my rv spot at Oaisis......with the info to contact YOU in Santa Monica studio
ОтветитьSorry if you actually respond it isn't coming back to me....all Forwarded to unknown hackers
ОтветитьI mentioned this to you almost 5 years ago, still no change
ОтветитьSo, what's the deal with Santa Monica then? I would give you a call but something REALLY SHADY going on with this "Vegas" bs
ОтветитьMany in the comments write that Chris does mixing so well because he has equipment worth millions of dollars. In fact, all this is not at all necessary. You can make mixing just as good as using the most common, standard computer plugins. The main thing here is the skills and quality of recording and monitoring. I myself have been convinced many times that if a multitrack is initially recorded with very high quality, if there is nothing superfluous, then mixing is as easy as possible. I trimmed the lower frequencies a little with the equalizer and compressed it a little with the compressor. Set balance and panning. And finally I added 1-2 reverbs and delays, and that’s it! The song is ready. Of course, there is mastering at the end, but if the track is well recorded and mixed, then mastering is quite simple. But if the tracks were initially recorded poorly, in an acoustically unprepared visit, and even if everything is mixed on poor acoustics, then big problems begin.
ОтветитьCan’t get over Billie’s voice. My favorite voice ever
Ответить"Mix with nothing"...and then you see literally millions of dollars of gear around the guy....
ОтветитьHow long do people spend on a ruff mix. Not much and a lot of the time the ruff mix sounds better than the 2 hour plus mix. Less is more. The guy doesn't have a name for nothing.
ОтветитьHe has over 100 years of experience in the field! Impressive!
ОтветитьThe production quality of this album is fucking legendary
ОтветитьSays the guy with $8B worth of gear in his storage closet
ОтветитьTantas máquinas para el último consejo, llegó a esa conclusión después de haber usado de todo. Que grande CLA !
ОтветитьShoutout to the recording engineer and producer for setting him up for success with incredibly recorded music
ОтветитьChris Lord-Alge: The master of not telling you a thing. Surprised he didn't push his plugins in this video. Lol
ОтветитьDo they really need all that equipment to mix a punk rock song
ОтветитьI’d love to watch the whole thing, I’d buy it stand alone but I’m not going to sub for hundreds of dollars
ОтветитьI’m semi-new to mixing, but the whole time i’ve had the “minimalist” approach to it… mainly because i only know a few plugins well enough lol
ОтветитьFirst comment! Love this minimalist approach of letting the song mix itself. The most involved part of my job is sending the invoice!
ОтветитьButtons/knobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьF*** plugins! The only SSL download that you should DOWNLOAD is the SSL 4000 manual... These old desks are a dime a dozen. Buy one, fix it up and enjoy decades of mixing on one!
Ответитьhi cris i download your ssl channel plugin its realy good woooow its makes a great job . i downloade bi Waves audio coooool 👍
Ответитьits so true the more you mix it the worse it sounds. less is so much more. and the more is analog gear lol
ОтветитьI bet you that was recorded with a Sony 800g and a bunch of Neumann mics and Neve this Neve that gear in a room with perfect acoustics. But at the same time he's right, he knows EXACTLY what needs to be done and his gear is already set up to quickly do it... After "hundreds" of years of trail and error.
Ответить“Mixing CLA-style, while also pocketing wedge from plug-in sales with your name on” 😉
ОтветитьSo we learned nothing. Great. Thanks.
ОтветитьMan! It be AMAZING if you'd deconstruct some SEETHER!
ОтветитьThe ancient one has spoken
Ответитьluv it, is there a full video available Mix with the Masters?
ОтветитьWhere was the audio coming from in those channels? tape?
ОтветитьThat original video got me in recording and mixing
Ответитьone of green days biggest turds of a song, 2004 was the year that pretty much ended Green Day being listenable as a whole
ОтветитьWise words, mix with nothing. That song sounds quite pleasing and what's cool is that you can sing wonderwall ontop of the intro/verse.
Ответитьlol this video is jokes 🤣💀
ОтветитьSome advice wrapped in a horrible exclusionary attitude
He wants to tell you you're doing it wrong because he can do it right. The important takeaway should be "understanding properly what your changes and add-ons do to a mix", not "don't use your tools" just because he had to walk up both hills in the snow with no shoes to get to school every day.
You're the reason people don't want to join your industry, and it's because you're designing it that way.
I don't like Chris' videos because he never explains what he's doing with the outboard eqs and why. I prefer Ryan Hewitt's and Luca Pretolessi's videos where they elaborate on this. It's not enough to just say "I used this EQ". Well, why? And what is it doing.
ОтветитьWhere's the part where Chris Lord-Alge mixes ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ by Green Day?
ОтветитьSo 2001
Ответить🔥🔥🔥Fak yeh!!
ОтветитьCan you guys do something about the slow server on your end? The videos takes forever to load on both the app and the website. It takes a good 5min-10min waiting for the course videos to even start to play. I tried different browsers, through the iiphone app.. its all very very slow. And subscription is starting to look very very expensive if i cannot see the videos.
ОтветитьHistoric
ОтветитьAs humans we tend to overthink most things especially mixing. CLA always brings us back to earth and keeps it simple, the workflow is what I take away from these videos. His organisation is impeccable. It’s all about a good balance.
ОтветитьAnd the lesson here kiddies is.......absolutely nothing! Just another useless diatribe by the most narcissistic engineer of all time.
Ответитьstart where I started..recording Thomas Edison on a wax disc
Ответитьi need more plugins!
ОтветитьThe bass is probably 70% of the sound on this album
Ответить
