What is your go-to Cloud Storage for your Photos? I would love to hear about them and any you think I have missed out 😁

I loved your channel, after years of testing and migrating from cloud to cloud, I still haven't found any definitive solution. I will make some considerations and updates on the services you mentioned.

Google Photos: Terrible for organizing large libraries. Very dependent on AI, it easily becomes a mess, it was destroyed when they disconnected Google Drive from Google Photos.
Amazon Photos: Again, terrible at organizing, it depends on the photo stream system, that can become a huge mess in no time.
OneDrive: It allows you to manage files in folders, facial recognition, locations and many other wonderful functions. For me it is the best system. However, it only allows you to buy 1tb of space, which is simply ridiculous compared to other services. The 6TB family plan is also limited to 1TB per email.
Apple: It has a very complete system with AI, manual tags and several other functions, the new 6tb and 12tb plans are competitively priced, but in practice it is not a backup service, I still need to take up space on my Macbook or iPhone.
Dropbox: Unusable for image library. It stopped in time and didn't update anything related to this niche.

Hi Amanda, I just found your channel tonight and am very impressed with all your content! I'm just embarking on backing up our family's entire photo repertoire that dates back to the 1920s (including digital photos, scanned photos, scanned slides, digital videos, and digitized videotapes) to a cloud-based service, but I'm still overwhelmed and confused as to what service to use. The most important features for us are an editable file structure (which sadly rules out Amazon Photos), unlimited storage for video as well as photos, being able to tag people, and being able to share with friends/family. Do you have some ideas that could help direct us that encompasses all those? Thank you!

😍 I got to meet this lovely lady today on zoom! I began scanning all my photos and negatives last year and finally completed that task! Now I have been faced with the challenge of backing up my digital treasure and weeding out thousands of duplicates 🫣 I now have a clear plan on which app and program will suit me best! Thank you Amanda for easing the confusion in my head.

The captions talking about google cloud said, “Pretty dunged”, instead of “Pretty damn good”. Check your captions

However, apart from that the review was very good. Thank you .

Hi Amanda, great video!
I'm currently an Amazon Photos user, but they recently seem to have removed a feature which I liked: I used the auto-upload feature so all of my photos would auto-back up via the App. Then, on a periodic basis, I would delete from the App and stuff I didn't want to keep and it would also give me the option to delete from my Phone.
Now, this feature has gone to its doubled my workload (so I turned the auto upload off).
Does Google have this feature as far as you know? Thanks in advance!

Hi Amanda. I recently switched from an Android phone to an iPhone. My wife already had an iPhone. Before my photos were being synced with Google photos and her photos were syncing with Apple Photos and being backed up with Google photos. Now I'm in the process of making sure all of our photos are in Apple photos (tedious!). But since Apple photos only syncs I want to make sure I have a backup. I could keep paying for Google photos or I could take advantage of my Prime membership and use Amazon photos. The latter is the cheaper option, but Google photos is now allowing the Magic Eraser on iphone. It's amazing! Do you have any advice?

Hey, thanks for the video.

I just uploaded all my videos and images to amazon photos, purchased the 100gb movie data plan for £1.50. plenty for me. got no complaints with the service i really like it. i find it great for organisation. facial recognition is great as well.

are all the images and videos on amazon drive already on amazon photos? so i don't have to transfer anything?

ive never used amazon drive but still i have 20gb of data on there. amazon photos and amazon drive files are stored in the same location so i dont need to do anything?

thanks.

BTW. say i reach the limit of my 100gb storage plan but for some reason i want to no longer pay for the service, what happens to my data?

I’m sticking with Dropbox and SmugMug as Google was having a out of space error even though I had loads of space. Also Google thumbnails are zoomed in where as Dropbox shows thumbnails that represent the photo aspect. Basically none are perfect and although Dropbox is so reliable and fast it is as you say featureless and hasn’t evolved for years.
