The problem with most black trims is they are not dye. Water based solutions like back to black is like a lotion so once it dries you get the faded. If you used a dye style trim it last until weather conditions ruin it so you have to routinely maintain it, no perfect solution,

Permanent is forever one time ever needed to be applied. 250 washes means long lasting not permanent.

For the skeptics. This is indeed not permanent, it is a coating. However it is a long lasting coating. Depending on the quality, up to a year and a half. Good ceramic coatings last longer up to five years for the best ones. The only way to restore the plastic is a heat gun.
The plastic gets discolored because the oils found in this petroleum based product get washed away from years of exposure. Heat brings this oil back to the surface restoring color. After restoration, I apply Diamond Pro Tech 36 month coating. They also have a 5 year and 10 year coating.

OR just use a heat gun and olive oil. The heat gun brings the oil left in the plastic to the surface and then infuse more oil into it by rubbing in a little olive oil on a cloth and rubbing it in. Cheaper, if you have a heat gun.

Sorry but WHAT?! 65$ for it??? It's a robbery! For just a few dollars you can buy a blackening liquid that works permanently. A bottle with a sponge for application and in hard-to-reach places you can use a small brush. One is enough for the whole car (last used on my volvo xc90 and still about half a bottle left).

Anyone who is slightly more handy, don't even bother with these restoration kits. Get trim and bumper paint, mask and spray. It's less than 10bucks and WILL last years and years and years with zero issues. It's the only proper fix longterm. Everything else is just watered down paint wannabe applications.
