Excellent review Rory, really impressive content. I looked at the Kona but the restrictive rear seats left you with your legs almost in your chest, ok for small children but very uncomfortable for adults plus a small boot so a Kona is not for me.
ОтветитьHi Rory...the Kona you were talking about that does 275 miles is the 64kw model and that costs plenty more than the Ioniq.
ОтветитьThe 39kWh Ionic is now great value used. 180 miles real world range. Exempt from London congestion charge (until December 2025).
ОтветитьIf they had put a 64kw battery in this car they would've cleaned up everyone would have this, big mistake by hyundai!
ОтветитьRory really does need to speak at a constant volume. The sound fade in this piece is awful.
ОтветитьIsn't the boot space 357 litres in the EV and Plugin?
ОтветитьI ordered the Ioniq a few days ago. I felt it was a better choise compared to the Kona. The Kona felt smaller (boot at least) but it can also have load on the roof. Since the Ioniq is going out of production all the cars are sold as the premium model which has everything included.
The Ioniq premium (included winter wheels) cost about the same as the entry level Kona Trend Standard Range. So it has similar battery, range and performance as the Ioniq. But feature vice it seems to be lacking compared to the Ioniq premium. So we went with the Ioniq.
I am going from a MK5 GTI to the Ioniq. Looking forward to it. Although I am going to be in tears when I hand in the keys to my Golf. I loved that car but moving on as it costing me crazy money on fuel.
ОтветитьCrazy decision to discontinue the ioniq..especially after winning so many awards
ОтветитьIconiq has been killed
ОтветитьOlder locks better
Ответитьvery happy with my 28 Ioniq, Kona has no room what so ever for long holiday trips
Ответитьthis car got cancelled
I assume there will no KONA EV come 2023-2025 ? I assume the ioniq line will flush everything out
Fact Rory was too good for TopGear
ОтветитьBrilliant quick guide wit some positive comments
ОтветитьHaving a child with a pram means the Ioniq wins compared to the Kona for me. I can fit a reasonable large pram/travel system plus a weeks shop in the boot
ОтветитьTop guy Rory, thanks
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank for introducing this semi pearl 💪🏼
ОтветитьTempted. Any down falls
ОтветитьNice editing
ОтветитьI think it's fugly inside and out. But it is efficient.
ОтветитьImpressive video. Do you recommend this as a first car?
ОтветитьIt’s a very good review, but it’s a very unattractive car. That’s a dealbreaker for me.
ОтветитьI really like this review. good job, guys.
ОтветитьI've had the hybrid version of this car and found the seats to be very uncomfortable. The seats only support half your thigh and over longer journeys its unbearable.
ОтветитьNice review by someone who talks sense. I think this bloke could work on tv.
ОтветитьAnd made the rapid charge rate half that of the old 28 kwhr , you will be lucky to get 40 45 kw on a DC charger due to rapidgate even though the new battery is liquid cooled.
ОтветитьWe took delivery of a 20 plate IONIQ last Friday and for us the nicest feature by far is auto hold. Entrance into the village is a clutch grinding hill with a traffic light at the top, which the Hyundai makes short shrift of. Push on the brake (if you can remember it after one-pedal driving), auto hold lights green, and no more rolling back.
ОтветитьWhen lonched in india
ОтветитьAre the batteries fully recycled?
ОтветитьAwesome video! Made me change the colour from phantom black to thyphoon silver.
ОтветитьI wonder why they have to make energy efficient versions of cars uglier than the regular versions. The normal Ioniq hybrid looks good this electric version look worse with the ugly rims.
ОтветитьWhat's the white rectangle just above the rear number plate?
Ответитьanyone know if the seat leon 1.4 ehybrid is the better option?
ОтветитьGood car, shame about the range
ОтветитьI'm 6'3. Does that mean it's going to be too small for me?
ОтветитьI am a new fan of you. Great review.....
ОтветитьExcellent family car. Efficiency is superb. Cheaper than a Kona, more space than a Zoe and far more efficient than a Leaf. Slower charging but I think this will prove useful for it's battery life and most will charge at home overnight. A comfortable drive with all the toys just not the hype.
ОтветитьA car is not designed to carry a washing machine. Get a van!
ОтветитьGood video. Thank you.
ОтветитьECO +. Clearly not researched the car.
You can control the car with a combination of the brake pedal and the paddles ?
What phone won’t fit in the charger slot ? Every I-Phone fits. Every Samsung fits, even the latest Note 20.
7.2kW internal charger has nothing to do with plugging into the RAPID Charger.
The KONA at the similar price is the same battery as the Ioniq - but its range is less than the IONIQ.
I could go on...
Nice review. You are sure that the colour is typhoon silver? I ordered mine and in pic is not the same.
ОтветитьPretty sure what you have there is Electric Shadow. I have one. The Typhoon Silver is much lighter, and metallic.
ОтветитьFinally an auto review for the normal person to relate to.
Ответить9/10 Excellent car. We tend to hire a lot of cars as we only need one about 5 or 6 times a year. Over the past several years I have tried a lot of new hatchback models (Golf, Octavia, Focus ST, Megane etc. etc.) This is one of the best cars I have ever driven. It is such a nice drive and has tech that goes way beyond its price point. The only drawback to this car is its looks. Its ugly as hell. But the ride is sublime, its so well balanced in the corners and the cockpit is just a really nice place to be. The steering wheel feels amazing, the dashboard graphics are really cool, the number of seating options including lumbar support match that of an expensive german car and everytime I drove it I thought damn I want this car in my life. Until I stepped out and looked at it and realised why I hadn't pulled the trigger yet.
ОтветитьGovernment subsidies and incentives for buying electric should include a green licence plate. But that's a nice car though.
ОтветитьWhen I’m plugged into either a 50kw charging point or 150kw I’ll occasionally charge at 46kw but normally max is about 36 which gets me from 0% to around 80% in about 28 minutes.
Also when I’m fully charged at 100% battery it tells me my range is 220 miles...not sure if that’s a mistake with the computer or actually true. It much higher than 193 miles advertised in this video.
My Samsung note 20 with protection fits perfectly and it's one of the biggest phones out there
