ОтветитьI found two Calvatia cyathiformis or Calvatia craniiformis the other day, I made the smaller of the two into a pizza and it was delicious, but last night I cut into the larger one and it was starting to turn yellow so I had to cut out most of it and it ended up being a bit chewier. 😔 Oh well, at least the first one was super delicious!

I had to add another comment wondering why you didn’t cover the oysters and to name my favorites Lions, what I call a cauliflower with the hedge hog being my favorite!!! Just tried the first time last fall. I think the name of the color flower mushroom is either shiitake or Mitaki???
ОтветитьHello I’m new to you channel and LOVE all your info. Very helpful but I have a question. Well two questions first did you go to school to learn all this information “fancy” mushroom names and what not. I ask because I’m in my 50’s and have been in the woods all my life and my guess I have “street” names for most of these mushrooms. I love that you know their Scientific names. I have learned a few new edibles from this video. Second question are you still doing the class you spoke of in the Bryan’s if so do I go the same route mentioned to join. Thanks so much for sharing all you knowledge.
ОтветитьIf you eat the wrong mushroom do you trip balls? I don't want to trip balls
ОтветитьYour video is very informative and easy to understand, my first mushroom video ever watched and I saw the entire thing..impressive
ОтветитьPsilocybin, LSD, shrooms and ketamine are absolutely life changing substances that have so much potential to help people with mental health issues.
ОтветитьI love how you can speak so many aspects of wild mushrooms in the north America area...can you recommend anyone to watch for the Texas I had mushrooms growing in my yard for many years but I have NO way of getting help to know if they were edible etc.
ОтветитьI must confess that this Psychedelics have proven very effective in the
treatment of various mental health issues asides other health benefits. Helped me get out of years
of depression and excessive alcohol use.
Where at in western Pennsylvania do you live ? I live in butler county
ОтветитьYou are an AMAZING educator! Keep going! I am a licensed educator/scientist. Most teachers I've met are not like you. They teach the thing that's being assessed. They don't teach children to make the connections, to see the bigger picture, etc. All humans would benefit from developing a scientific mindset like yours! People are very vulnerable without this skill. The pandemic made that painfully obvious. People did not know how to identify reliable resources, etc. God bless! Take care of yourself! KEEP TALKING. You give me hope you the future.

As others have said, you do an awesome job. Comprehensive and good display of visuals. Hand comparisons are good. Here in the foothills of Alberta, Canada, we wouldn't likely grow those that grow on or near hardwoods. Our deciduous tree species are not as numerous; some look to be the same, but from a different habitat. Regardless, I enjoy the presentation of the videos so much that I'll continue to watch them :)
ОтветитьThere are three mushroom species I've seen grown in my area. I don't know what they are, but I know they are poisonous. The most common being white ones with a fairly flat cap and ribbing on the underside of it (I've seen squirrels die after eating them, so I'm not going to try em). The next one kinda looks like a bright orange nerf dart and gives off a foul stench of death. Bright orange usually means poisonous in the wild world-- seeing the dead bugs around it makes me think that it's spores are not healthy. I always wear a mask and other protective gear when I have to remove these ones. The final one is a large cluster of scalop shaped caps that are anywhere from a yellow tone to a neon redish-orange color. Nothing goes near them. No the skunks, not the squirrels, and not any insects I can see. They avoid this like the plague, so I just follow their lead. If they think it's dangerous, then it probably is.
ОтветитьI wish you would tell what dish each one gos in.
ОтветитьSomeone told, ineatable mushrooms turn black when you cook them......is that true ?
ОтветитьOh I have been searching for a video like this!!! Thank you Adam so much!! I found a huge chicken of the wood but was so afraid to eat it!!!
