Lightburn, you have changed a lot of peoples lives for the better. What a great job you are doing, like Russ and his laser tutorials. i get sick of the smart arse comments like some below. As you say, everyone is a critic. I can say, you guys have helped me make quite a bit of useful coin. I am looking forward to when we finally get to version 1.0. if i traced a product and simply scanned it on a printer into the system wouldnt that be the same? im looking at this very question currently. waiting on my engraver to arrive thank you

What type of camera? Can I import a JPG file and do the same thing? Can you turn that into a vector?

Hi! We run lightburn software and have a 4k-n lighburn 8mp 120 degree camera for our 60w 700x500. However we cannot get the full be view after multiple attempts at calibration. The corners on the bottom appear cut off and seems like it needs to go further away to get more field of view. Question is, do you think we have to get a wide angle camera instead of the narrow camera we have? They are never in stock so what other camera options do you know of besides the pre loaded lightburn cameras would work with the light burn software? Any help is appreciated. TIA.

@lightburn Software, I notice that your targets are flat on the bed from when you aligned the camera. But your coaster sits up a little bit. How did you get the camera to align so perfectly? Even with my piece of leather at the same height as my targets, it still seems like my preview doesn't line up perfectly 99% of the time. So I have to line it up and adjust it with framing to make sure the design is exactly where I want to place it. I'd love any tips you have to help!

But if I have the camera in the flap then the position of the camera changes every time so I would have to have the flap always closed so that the dimensions are all correct ?

Can the camera be used with a CNC router with a laser attachment?

it looks like the camera recognises shapes. does that mean if you printed registration marks around your work. you could use the recognition to do the print and cut alignment process?

Nice video, why do all of the video's ignore the x shift, y shift, width and height adjustments. How do you use them to fine tune the alignment?

Using the camera seems to take the place of the positioning..i.e. Current position, Absolute, user... Is that correct?

I’m considering an 8MP 85° FOV mounted to the ceiling above my 400x400 bed. Is that over kill? I just want makes sure I keep distortion low to increase accuracy, so I thought the smaller FOV would best do that while also making for the most stable mount possible. Is this overkill or should I just go with an 5MP camera? I have really low ceilings in my shop at just 80” high and great lighting, so I’m conflicted.

Hola buenos días que función tiene esta cámara ya que la compre y no la tengo instalada en mi maquina laser cnc y si yo pongo algo a grabar o cortar en el programa lightbun algún vector esta cámara no vale para pasar y grabaro cortar solo vale para poner una imagen y grabar o cortar es que busco información pero no encuentro nada si usted que veo que es un gran maestro y le sigo sus videos me podría ayudar

Funny, if do the same,, mine cut is off right by a inch form where i put the material, every time, no matter how often i do the to calibration routines.

Does it automatically set the origin to the camera view?

Can I import a file like this into Gsender or do I need to burn it through light burn to take advantage of the camera alignment? How does Gsender know where XY zero is in relation to the image?

How are you viewing the camera while cutting?

Can you use the light burn camera to view a workpiece and then center text you want on the workpiece as well as telling lightburn where to begin engraving?

Did you focus to the slate? Do I need to leave the original wood on the bed I calibrated on?
