Armin just claimed that he wanted to make Atheism publicly acceptable as any other religions are. When kushal points out that atheism is already publicly acceptable in india then Armin changes his argument. Thats called changing the goal post.

Armin!!! You won’t be able to target Hinduism as a “Religion” on a theoretical level because thr r countless diverse ideologies within hinduism. As a fellow atheist i sympathise with ur intentions but u just wont get that traction as an atheist in India. What ur consulates in India will have to do is target specific local issues. Casteism is one such obvious issue; Hindu Nationalism is another such issue; Ayodhya Ram temple dispute and Sabrimala issue. The funny thing is that many hindus will also support u in ur endeavours.

Armin!!! If Christianity and Islam are like “Cancer” then Hinduism is like “Common cold”. Both are undesirable but the treatments for them is different.

I dont understand why Armin is taking Kushal’s classification of Hinduism into 10 schools on its face value. Thr r literally countless belief systems within hinduism and not just 10. These 10 classifications may be just for academic purposes but in reality the hindus even worship a fuckin car or a machine or even parents for tht matter. Its totally harmless; Agreed. But is it understandable? Hell no

About why carvakas, ajivikas and other skeptic streams are Hindu: Kushal could have said that carvakas and the rest of hindus have the overriding criterion in validating a claim - the pratyaksh. For example - payasi(being a materialist) measured the weight(direct perception) of people before and after death to infer migration of soul. Since he found no difference he rejected the notion of soul. This happened 2.5 millenia ago. This kind of argumentation and design of experiments is absent in today's Indian society. Advaitins accept this position of carvaks as valid since non-perception is an accepted means of proof(akin to atheists like Armin who say I dont perceive the soul so I reject that it exists). Where Advaitins get on to the high horse by explaining this situation as a state of maya and that attaining moksha itself can be the ultimate pratyaksh pramana. Which it think has the possibility of being deceptive and genuine.

So Carvaka Religiously part of Sanatana Dharma School of Thought
And Geographically also part of Hinduism School of Thought....
