Does phone get charged when connected to monitor with Type c cable while using dex feature

Thank you Sir.But please help .When I connect Tab S9 plus with monitor,though Dex mode is activated only video plays on the screen:No sound on the monitor ,but both Video and voice is on the Tab .Same is the problem when my S 22 Ultra mobile is connected .A message was shown saying " TAP THE TOUCH PAD ICON ON THE NAVIGATION BAR".I have no idea about that ? My both systems are android from Samsung.

If you have LG Ultragear 4K Monitor, then You don't need anything extra. Ultragear comes with 3 dedicated cables and USB-C is one of those. Just connect USB-C of LG and Samsung. Both devices will auto-detect each other, and you will see DEX welcome screen.

Hate to be a negative Nancy but i don't see how you can be productive on this. If I wanted to get real work done, I'd go look for my laptop. And then if you wanted run some software then you can't cause no one is designing any programs from dex. It's all windows and it's not compatible.

I hope I can do this on my S7 I want to use my Samsung Gear VR as a passthrough on my laser so I don't burn my eyes out I'll emulate the light so I can focus the beam and not hurt myself. And I can also use the web browser on my monitor at the same time with HDMI to USBC on the VR. So I can control my laser and 3d printers through octoprint on 4 different raspberry pi4's. I hope it works..

hi. Thank you for the video. This is the first time I use this feature. I am trying to use it in my laptop. There may be something wrong. The keyboard, the pc touch screen work but my pc mouse does not work inside DEX. How can I fix this? it´s like any gesture or click I make with my mouse work inside the app

can I drag and drop files from the phones file explorer onto my dex desktop? For example if I want to work with excel files on dex, can I setup my dex desktop like a windows desktop?
I googled that question but all I get is information about drag and drop from a windows PC which is connected to dex. that is NOT what I want to know. I think about getting rid of my PC and using the phone as an all in one solution, therefore I need to know If I can customize it to a level which is acceptable.

When I was studying, I had a phone and no money for a laptop to conduct my studies. I did, however, have the money for a monitor, keyboard and mouse, so everything could be done without worry. The cheaper Samsung phones can do a similar thing but rather than a Dex skin it uses the same Android skin as the phone but all the inputs and outputs are operated with PC peripheries assuming you have a USB hub to connect everything. I love this feature.

Will it replace PCs as a whole? I don’t think it will. But this absolutely has the potential to catch on,and make mobile phones a lot more capable than they already are. Imagine carrying a pocket sized laptop with you,keeping your data and work on you,and expanding it into a desktop experience seamlessly. So i wouldn’t be worried about dex replacing windows,but It would most likely be a great compliment to it.

I use Dex all the time, The main issue is with Word and Excel integration and no spell checker.

Not gonna lie to the samsung dex on the tablet is amazing, and the fact that you can utilize a full bluetooth keyboard with a mouse on bothe the tablets and fold series is truly a game changer. I'm using it right now because as much as I love my Windows pc, it has been acting funny as of a couple of hours ago connecting to the internet. Which sucks because I was doing some work but my fold came in clutch (no wireless dex ) with the keybaord and I wanted to see if how the dex experience faired on the tablet and its even better with a bigger screen.

Smart Things screen sharing and DeX doesn't work on my S22 Ultra or any of my older Samsung phones.
I guess it is purposely done to force users to buy Samsung TVs.
My TV's are Sony and LG.
I did countless bug reports about it to Samsung support, but no any difference update after update.
Maybe it's time for me to switch to different brand.

i am too using it as my pc but the only issue i faced so far is Ms office exprerience is of not that good. samsung should partner with microsoft so they can devloped a full scale ms office with all features for dex. then i guess it can completely replace a pc for an average user.

Good analysis. Do you know if this supports playback of protected contents via HDMI? I have some subscription services in my smartphone and some of them (fotball mainly) can't be streamed directly to a TV, TV Box, Console... using Chromecast and the likes. So I was wondering if it could be used directly via HDMI input in a TV or projector? Thank you.

DEX is my main PC for atleast a year now, its absolutely amazing to not use a laptop with a screaming fan but a efficient and nice device like your phone.

I have a 27 inch 4k monitor on my pc and when I use samsung dex with my galaxy s22 it looks low res and blurry at 30hz. Does dex support 4k 60hz?
