Can you get the individual frames from the XPhase Scan?
ОтветитьAfter 2 years we will get a 10% improvement in the X4 😅👀🤕
ОтветитьI'm quite happy with my Theta X for virtual tours, expecially for the zero workflow and the big screen, so I don't have to connect it to the mobile while shooting. However I have to say that I really miss my old Insta OneX for videos...
Ben, I read somewhere that you will release a VR course in the future...Did I remember correctly? And in case, when?
Like always, your reviews are always thorough and informative. I'm still using GoPro MAX, waiting for MAX2 to be relaised for my action 360video and the Trisio for my 360photography and tour. Big Thanks Ben.
ОтветитьBen. You always hit it out of the park. I appreciate you! This is very helpful. I primarily take photos and that xphase scan sounds perfect. I can not find anything on it on line other than through your link. Are there any flaws to this camera other than it’s ugly? Is the company responsive to problems?
ОтветитьI'm waiting for the X4 as a successor for my X2. I'm not expecting best quality, but a pretty good quality and the best and fastest mobile workflow for happy snaps, due to the great insta360 apps.
BTW: Qoocam Studio can now merge your 8 dng to dng8 and stitch at once, at least the windows version. But then you need to make color correction with a stitched 360 photo.
As always, top review Ben, greetings from Ukraine)
If you have time, I would like to clarify:
I have a business model - I send my clients a camera by mail, with a monopod → they take a photo → I receive the camera back and upload a 3D tour to them at a point on Google map (Not Street View)... this is part of the local SEO work.. For personal video shooting of a blog I use insta x2... + Cannon m50 mark 2
A few questions:
1. For personal shooting for those clients who, in addition to the goal for local SEO, also need a high-quality business presentation, I want to master my camera (↑↑) + fisheye, or is it better to buy XPhase? The quality of this camera will already allow you to abandon the camera with a lens? This stitching and editing seems so complicated to me and, to be honest, I don’t even have much desire to understand the issue.
2. I send people x one or x 2, because you can buy a lot of them used and a lot on the market and there is no difference in the indoor photos between them and x 3, but maybe you can recommend something else? It is also important that the photo process itself is simple for people; in these cameras, people press one button and the camera takes a photo in 10 seconds. I see only 1 inch, but as you said, it is larger, more fragile and more expensive... On average, people break 1-2 cameras per year to me...
Great review thanks 😃
ОтветитьHere are some selling points for the Theta-X: built in GPS and compass for geotagging, SD card, removable/replaceable battery.
I use it all the time for my hiking trips. It works great.
It is a shame that no company has taken the throne of the X3 which doesn’t encourage Insta360 to innovate quicker. Nevertheless a happy OneRS user myself. I never wanted the RS in this form factor but got the original OneR when the X was not available and X2 not yet released. Then warranty got me the RS. It’s a shame Ricoh has lost their edge. Where is GoPro? Very curious about how Canon will perform. Hope the X4 at least comes with 10 bit video so log finally makes sense. And yes replaceable lenses.
ОтветитьNice one Ben
ОтветитьIf I had infinite money, I'd go for the Insta360 1 Inch Edition. I already have the One R and have used it for years. But after watching countless review videos, I have concluded that no currently available camera presents significant enough of an upgrade for me, other than possibly the 1 Inch. I primarily shoot hiking videos. I'll most likely wait another year or two to see if anything new comes out that blows everything else away within a reasonable price range.
ОтветитьI have a Insta360 X2. I willwait for the X4.
ОтветитьI'm really missing the gopro max here despite your beautiful review.
ОтветитьThanks for the comprehensive comparison video.👍
P.S.: One request. If not already posted by you, can you please do a video on what kind of hardware to use to 'edit' the footage shot on these cams? I see you are using a Mac Studio.
FYI the theta Z1 is water resistant in the rain, I know because I left one shooting in the rain for a full day.
Ответитьthanks for the great content as always.
ОтветитьI look forward to this video twice a year and it looks like I might finally have to move on from my Z1 after 5 years I hadn’t seen a big enough bump to move on yet. The xphase has my attention but if I am to consider a rotator why not a360 gimbal or auto rotator the realsee g1 with their ai stitching comes to mind as it uses the apple lidar sensor. Do you have any experience with it?
ОтветитьGood reviews! Thank you.
ОтветитьHow do you feel the xphase scan compares to a mid level dslr (say around $1,000) and lens. I’m sure it does not compare to a very high end camera/lens combo.
ОтветитьI can tell you from a user why the one RS / modular camera is nice. I shoot starting in good light for about 2 hours then the sunsets using the 360 lens and my needs change. After sunset, I will switch to the 1" lens for when I need to shoot a video in low light or even use a light attached to the camera. I could use the 360 but the 1" lens works better in low light for this camera and much better with the light attached. Instead of taking 2 cameras, I can take just one. It allows me the flex ability that I need for my shooting style. It also allows me to cut down on a little weight and gear which is super important if I'm hiking in a l long distance to my filming location. I also shoot in adverse weather conditions. Having an action-style 360 camera is critical when it starts to rain or snow. In short, there is a nitch for a modular style 360 camera, and for those of us who use it for this, it works wonderfully. Keep up the good work filming and showing what is happening in the world of 360 cameras!
ОтветитьThorough overview for 360-cam shoppers Mr Ben! :-)
Ответить360 cameras should provide at least 1080p when reframing. Dont know what the overall resolution required would be... 8k? Thats my main gripe.
ОтветитьWhen it comes to 360 photography then it is important to note that this review focuses solely on photography for virtual tours, which basically means all the photos have been taken with a camera mounted on a static tripod. If you plan to take photos with handheld camera on selfie stick (e.g while hiking) then the results presented in this video might not be applicable to you at all. For example I get blurry photos with handheld Insta360 X3 all the time. It's great for handheld video but not so great for handheld photos.
ОтветитьI bought an X2 for $370. Technically it's just a little bit inferior to the X3, if you don't count the larger display.
ОтветитьI’m really curious about the xphase scan. Any chance you could post the sample files for the various cameras so we could check them out along with the workflows?
Ответитьim sold by the 1 inch and theta x interms of how they look
ОтветитьGopro Max is still a great camera and there will be Max 2 (hopefully 2024). That’s the one I’m waiting most.
Ответитьa every year must see, thanks for your work!
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьThanks for the detailed video! Too bad the GoPro Max is missing! For paragliding full flight capture, the GoPro Max is still the overall best 360 camera thanks to its amazing wind noise reduction, long battery life and compactness. The X3 is a close second, but will absolutely need an external microphone - it doesn't know how to deal with suddenly changing wind directions at high speed (and neither do any other brand I've tested, 360 or not).
It's a shame because I really am not a big fan of GoPro...
Buy one that has no limit of recording 29 min. It’s very important. Because all insa360 have this limit
ОтветитьWow wow what a detailed summery. Well done.
ОтветитьI would suggest wait for this years insta360 X4 launch
ОтветитьFor Christmas I gave myself a gift with the PanoX V2. I must say that the choice was motivated by the video quality. I could have opted for QooCam3 but it is very suitable for shooting in low light, something I rarely use. Now I'm waiting for Panox to add the RAW format to the photos, so as to have better quality in post production. However, I was satisfied with the extreme ease of use and functionality of GSV. Thanks Ben, your videos are linear and attract attention, worth watching until the end! 👍
ОтветитьHold or Sell for the Theta X in early 2024?
ОтветитьExpect a higher-end model of the X4 with the AcePro's 1/1.3" sensor; expect the X4 Pro because, like the AcePro, we expect better processor performance; rather than expecting a modified version to replace the RS's 1" model, an integrated model would be better than ONE R/RS is better than ONE R/RS because it seems to solve the problems that ONE R/RS has.
As for the risk of damage.... Let's not think about it.
I'm very happy with my X2.
ОтветитьBrilliant video Ben. Thanks!
ОтветитьReally great and helpfull video as always, but please can you compare 360 Cameras for virtual Tours over 1000$?
ОтветитьI'm planning to buy the Insta360 One X 2 as it is on sale at the moment for 299 euros
ОтветитьOne of the things that drives me nuts about the OneRS dual 1 inch... shelf life of the battery! Seems to drain itself when switched off very quickly! fully charged in my camera bag, and I go to use it, and it's got like 10% battery! grrr
ОтветитьExcelent Review. Thumbsup 👍🏼
ОтветитьI'm looking forward to seeing the Canon 8K 360. I hope it will raise the bar.
ОтветитьCan't someone just get the one in lens for the one rs and it would improve it and move it more towards the buy side?
ОтветитьI love my 1r
ОтветитьI like and own the theta. I had bought in on eBay for a good price. And has more than enough paid for itself.
