Only a mention for “ in this moment” and “ the pretty reckless” dumb!! They should make the list over some of the lame shit that made the list.

I hate it when people say that females are all about being princessy, and all sweet and nice, and sunshine lolipops. And I even hate it more when people say metal rock or any time of screaming songs for just for men and not women. I mean anything a man can do, a woman can do too. Besides Joan Jett sings heavy metal rock, and she's female, so if she can, we can too!

Rename this ‘in the western world’. This list isn’t even close without Saiki Atsumi, lead singer of Band Maid. Or Suzuka Nakamoto, lead singer of BabyMetal. Or Mayu, lead singer of Nemophila. Or Asami lead singer of Lovebites. There are others, but this post is getting too long.

All of them great, but the future is "The Warning", a 3-sister band from Monterrey, Mexico. More hard rock than metal, but so good that they have revived an interest among old-school rock fans that had been long dormant. Lead singer Danela Villareal was recently gifted a guitar by Lzzy Hale, with clear inferences that she was the future.

You mentioned already Simone Simons, Sharon den Adel, Floor Jansen forgetting the amazing female fronted singers Manda Ophuis, Zora Cock, Laura Guldemond, Lisette van den Berg, Anneke van Giersbergen, Charlotte Wessels, Marjan Welman, and Dianne van Giersbergen. All from Dutch origin, and so every country has its list of great female fronted singers in rock/ metal bands.

I’m not knocking the women you’ve mentioned here but how can you neglect the women who practically started it all, the ones who made it possible for women to be in hard rock and metal, women like Anne and Nancy Wilson (Heart), Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and others of their generation? If it wasn’t for the boldness of these women from the 70s and 80s, women wouldn’t have a place in rock and heavy metal music.

Angela Gossow is awesome!!! Taylor is my absolute favorite of current rock chicks. Would like to see what you have to say about women that lead the way in the 70s and 80s, like Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, etc.
