Is this true? The dustbin is emptied automatically when the unit returns to the base but it doesn’t return to the base when the dustbin is full. Hence would it continue running all over the house but not actually vacuuming up debris? A few comments stated this. Is it true?

Hi does the vac have separate clean and dirty water tanks as well? Otherwise wouldn't the mopping pad get very wet?

is there a way to tell it to mop only, and not vacuum at all, or no?

I am still using my roborock S5 since the day it was launched. Still works like new, these things really do last!

So funny how tech companies can get complacent. Roomba is just a joke, sure they were awesome when the first came out but RoboRock is just a MUCH better robot vacuum brand. Like Dyson is to a Bissell (you could say Shark, but they make pretty damn good stuff) Me and my wife are buying a new construction home in a few weeks, we’ve been planning what Wall-E’s to buy for the house, originally she was set on getting the Top of the Line Roomba, UNTIL i saw what the RoboRock could do. It is more $$$ but damn it’s sweet.

Is this how loud?

Thinking about investing in a robot vacuum. I just wonder, has anyone bothered to look into the privacy policies of these things? Seems pretty creepy to be selling my entire house's floor plan to Google and/or other data vendors

You should probably also tell about some of the glaring faults, like you cant program the vacum without internet connection, a phone, gps location,a forced online account and a forced low security password both on account and your wifi.
You also have to accept of your info being shared freely with other companies (remember the vacum records video when ever it is used).
And even in 2.4ghz it don't work with a MASSIVE amount of routers.

Thanks for the great review. I was ready to move on from my S6, which gave great service for 3 years. Looking at the S7 and S8 presented two amazing machines, and choosing the right one depends on your personal needs and budget. I went with the S7 MaxV Ultra and am really blown away. I had to contact Roborock with 2 minor questions and found them very helpful and eager to help. The mapping is so fast and accurate. I only had to bring the vacuum itself to the second floor for very quick mapping. There is a large number of ways to customize your vac/mopping settings, and I'm experimenting with those. I'm emptying/rinsing the dirty water container after every wash to avoid the smell issue. I'm eager to see if adding the Omo cleaning solution promotes the growth of gunk in the water. The self-emptying dust bag feature is extremely loud but not a big issue for me. Overall, at this early stage, it's a winner. Appreciate all the work your videos take and the interesting and helpful comments from viewers.

Hi there! Really appreciate your videos and did a ton of research before taking the plunge with the Roborock S7 MaxVUltra. Apparently I didn’t do enough, as I’ve been disappointed to get it out the box to learn it doesn’t recognize black rugs. It spins out and refuses to get on them at all. If you place it on them it won’t clean and spins in circles. Apparently this is a common/well known problem?

I can’t believe I paid $1500 for a vacuum with Lidar technology and the latest and greatest AI tech that can’t recognize…a simple carpet. I’m honestly shocked.

Wanted anyone reading this to be aware as well. 🫠

So the robot does not detect a full dustbin, correct? (The dustbin is the box inside the robot that collects the debris.) The feature "empties dustbin automatically" is confusing. It will only empty the dustbin automatically when the robot is returned to the base. However, the robot will not automatically return to the base when the dustbin is full. So, in essence, if the dustbin is full, the robot may still be operating, but it won't be collecting any debris. Therefore, you have to check it to ensure the dustbin is not full.

Hi, does anyone know what is the maximum height of doorstep it can climb over? I cant find this spec anywhere :(

Can you do a review of the s7 maxV ultra mop dryer and water change kit?

My question is: does it vacuum on hardwood before moping? The location of the mop makes this possible. I just don’t know if it is happening. We love our S7V Ultra. But we just paid to refinish our hardwood and the one thing the contractor said was make sure to vacuum before moping. Replies appreciated. It’s probably buried in an online manual. Thank you.

One of the huge shortcomings of any online reviewer is that they almost always never discuss long-term ownership experience (recurring costs, maintenance, repairs, performance, customer service experience etc) and after-sales service by the manufacturer during and after warranty periods. If the Review needs an addl. 60 second refresh video to discuss long-term ownership experience say one or two yrs down the lane, then that should be done as well. In my research of robot vacuums, I have not seen any reviewer address these concerns. Yet, the internet is flooded with folks having terrible experience with manufacturers in getting their broken units fixed. $1000 is a boatload of money to only realize that your unit broke after 366 days and then you are left high and dry.

This vacuum looks good, but not at a cost of over $2,000.00.

Here is a tip if you don't like the stinky water from the dirty water bin, just add a little bleach to it when you empty it every time. By a little, I mean just enough to cover the bottom of the bin about 2 or 3 ounces maybe. The water will not smell bad at all the next time you empty it out.

I just get high and wish I was a vacuum sales person in 1940 selling this stuff

In your test, how well does this unit go over tile to wood floor transitions? The iRobot I have had goes over one way (from tile to wood), but will not go back over (from wood to tile).

I love your channel and am learning so much! I'm brand new to robot vacuums, but would love to get one. It seems that none of them do well on high pile carpet though, is that correct? My whole house is thick carpet and I'd hate to invest in a $1200 vacuum only to find out it won't do the job!

Are we allowed to spray bathroom floors with little cleaner/ bleach and let roborock mop wipe it?

Well I have owed this for about two three weeks it was fine and working then I went to use it and found nothing would happen I saw it had a voice update so did that thinking maybe it’s because I need to do the update nope the voice update won’t happen so I made sure it was on the charger correct and figured maybe it died because maybe it got bumped or something and stopped charging nope next day nothing and now there are no lights so I looked at everything thinking maybe there was something wrong with the outlet no it’s dead the robot has no lights and the base was white but now it’s red so called they said put it on the charger I did no lights so now they want my order number and stuff and that was it she sent me an email and was they end of the conversation so now I’m freaking out because this thing is not cheap and apparently you can’t reset the base or anything I asked but she was very short and never answered the question So if something happens to any part of it it does not work and I take good care of it and following the directions I even made sure the floors were cleaned several times before I let it go forth with the mopping feature. It’s a shame because now I’m scared after spending so much. Because the thing cleaned very well and amazing going along under the edge of cabinets like a pro no other one has done that like this one and this is my third. I had a shark that I loved but died at the one year mark due to a sensor saying something is there but there is not ever took all apart to clean there was nothing and my original bump around shark is still going strong and that one has taken the most beating of them all. I didn’t even have to change bags yet and it’s dead for the price it should have help up for a long time

Based on this review, I bought one during the Black Friday special. I got it home, and this vacuum has a MAJOR PROBLEM! It DOES NOT empty the internal bin until the end of the entire cleaning job. I have 2 German SHeppards, and they shed quite a bit. I got a notification that their fur had clogged up the brush, and when I pulled it out, the bin was literally overflowing. I called Roborock, and they informed me that the bin would ONLY empty at the end of the entire job. I am going to send it back if at all possible. So this video is incorrect at the beginning, where it says that it will automatically empty.

How wet does the carpeting get just from the pad being saturated.

Question I bought this and I thought it went with the mop pad in the base to charge but it was dead when I went to use it so I turned around because I saw videos of it facing the other way so I’m confused how to charge does it only go with the mop end when cleaning the mop but other times the mop end would be on the outside. I mean I’m pretty good with all tech but I can’t tell if it’s charging. It’s even facing with the camera out in the beginning of your video

how can this be the future? In china, they selling this kind of robot 2-3 years ago😅

Hey vacuum wars... Do you think they will come out with a bagless canister module for the ultra dock? This is SO close to perfection with the exception being that they regressed back to bags at the base station. I HATE vacuum bags.

By far the best vacuum / mop machine out there right now. I happily returned my roomba s9+ and ecoboy omni after giving the roborock s7maxv ultra a go. Nothing comes close to the cleaning performance, smart features, quiet operation, awesome software and controls, build quality, etc. Get it for a black fridat or cyber Monday deal and you'll save so much money. This is definitely the best and most advanced robot vacuum you can buy right now. I just hope they make a lawn mower version that can mow a few acres on a charge and I'd be all set!

Any idea if an S7 would be compatible with this dock? Also if you don't have the mop washing dock, how often do you think you'd need to be changing the pad? Every mop cycle?
Edit: I'm assuming these tests were performed with water only for the mopping? Not using Roborock's cleaner right?

hi again, i have troubles deciding: Ultra or Plus?
my point is cleanliness: having the station scrubbing the pad is less hygienic than washing it or replacing it altogether if you have the bucks to splash on single use pads
as for the water, i see no point in a station refilling it since I can do it myself.
