One of those films where both of these actors deserved an Oscar - Nicolas Cage as the best actor and James Gandolfini as the best supporting actor!

Incredible movie, incredible cast but very very disturbing. It definitely didn't do the adult entertainment industry any favours.

Think about the actors in this film. Cage, Phoenix, Gandolfini, Reedus, it’s crazy the level of talent in this one kind of obscure picture. Gotta wonder too if Gandolfini used mannerisms developed here in the Sopranos…

Nicolas Cage is a great actor. Most all these actors in this movie are great it's a great movie. Joe Schumacher he's good. This movie's gritty and grimy

I love this film. Notice how Eddie was the only one of the 4 who did this that showed ANY shred of humanity or remorse. The lawyer didn't and Dino Velvet and Machine DEFINITELY didn't.

The music in the background is dark perfection.

I was never a big Cage fan but I think of all the big films he has been in this was his best work.
Sadly this movie has been overlooked by fans and critics alike.
If you have not seen this movie I highly recommend it but be warned it is a dark movie with some scenes hard to stomach.

This is one of the only films where I've felt genuine disgust & fascination at the same time. The worst thing is these evils exist in this world. The director had some balls to depict this world. The actors in this film were all class, Gandolfini, Peter Stormare, Cage and Phoenix. Really haunting and powerful film.

I never understood this scene. The phone call to Eddie is what gets him caught when he later tries to commission a film by Dino. Why'd he tip them off like this, and how could he be surprised when it totally blows his cover?

Peter Stormare was absolutely awesome in this Flick! One of the most underrated Actors!

Underrated thriller, i saw this when i was 17 in theaters and a nice comeback for Joel after Batman and Robin nearly killed his career.

One thing I hated about the ending was that the widow couldn't hang on long enough to pay the private detective the money she owed him. Okay she put money aside to pay Mary's family but not the detective. She left a note saying please try to forgive me, but didn't include a check for his services. Talk about chickenshit.
