I'm against editing. I just can't get past the feeling that I'm creating something fake, and what's the point of taking photos of the real world if I'm going to add a fictional veneer to them.
ОтветитьHello! I’m thinking of getting the Nikon z6ii, would I still be able to creat large prints with the 24 MP? Otherwise I might spend more and get the z7ii. I love ur work btw!!
ОтветитьI think the best way to do this is to find locations close to your home that are interesting to photograph and spend time studying the photos when you get home. Then go back and retake them. Keep doing this and you'll learn a lot.
ОтветитьNigel you are so right on the mark. Taking photographs is so much more than knowing how to use your camera. I find it quite interesting to hear other photographers talk about their approach to observing a particular scene; to find that view that sings to perhaps just you. Photography is a creative endeavor and so much more than just knowing how to use your gear. Thank you for sharing.
Ответитьwhere is this beautiful forest?? I live in Arizona, so I can only dream of being in places like that.
ОтветитьProfound and comprehensive teaching for beginner like me with outstanding samples
ОтветитьAre the bird noises sound effects?
ОтветитьLOVE LOVE your content! So well done and very professional. Thank you and keep bringing us this fantastic content.
ОтветитьImportant to remember that a lot of this is subjective. Personally I am not a fan of a lot of Niegl's compositions for various reasons, but that doesn't mean that I think he's wrong or that they're bad compositions. And I agree there are some basic rules of composition which should be followed for best results.
ОтветитьThis is meant as constructive criticism, because I like your chanell. If you lure viewers with clickbait promising 3 things, right away you need to list the 3 things, then 1 by 1 go through them, if you try to keep them hostage, by only addressing 1 idea they will not really pay attention, they will wait through what you are saying to hear the second and 3rd, and if they did not find what you shared to be of value to them they will resent you wasting their time and say, "fuck this guy". Give them the choice right away. You may drop a few viewers who might not be interested in your 3 points, but you will not stir contempt and resentment in those who stick around becoming more and more and more and more annoyed by your rambling meandering over your subjective value for what ever the he'll it is you are on about. To be honest I have no fucking clue what 2 and 3 are because you pissed me off with this drag it out and make them wait to find out tactic, and I am one of those guys who said FUCK THIS GUY. I Also un-subbed. I have no interest in chanels that play games or fuck around with tactics to get or retain views, if you want my attention, offer value, not games. I wish you luck, you sound like a nice guy, just not for me.
ОтветитьWhat a channel!
ОтветитьThank you. Wonderful advice. I have watched many of your videos and I am always impressed by your photos, your way of interacting with viewers, and your advice.
ОтветитьThank you for this WONDERFUL tutorial. I LOVED it! (And I love your dog. 💕)
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьomg - even the forest setting in your intro looks amazing, as if you are walking through a painting! love learning from you!
Ответитьinsightful
ОтветитьI thought I would re-watch this video. Last year I went down to the shop and bought some apples ( Thanks Nigel ) and continued on my way to my location. Great advice.
ОтветитьGreat video. Also, I have those juggling balls
Ответитьcomposition and careful attention to what line is most important to be straight helps to have the right lens and be willing to use a tripod if needed. too much post production is to be avoided
ОтветитьShape Texture and Color the STC Observation Rule that pays off instantly in your Photos
ОтветитьDo u do any kind of course for photography? In uk
ОтветитьI get Sony a7 3 and I don’t know how to use 😊
ОтветитьObservation doesn't start at the location. It starts with paying attention/observing the weather, season or what Iam shooting. If I am shooting weather related scenes, I watch the weather. If I am shooting an animal, I have to know their behavior to know when the best time to be there and how they move. The only time to shoot a peacock is in the spring during mating season..That is when they puff and fluff their feathers. An eagle has aerodynamic ways of landing and taking off. I need to know this. The Mily.Way is only visible part of the year. Which direction is it coming from to get a good foreground? Do homework before investing in a shoot..
ОтветитьLove that you do stuff with your dog as you do stuff benefits of photography freedom to bring your dog to work 🐶😁
ОтветитьThis video was simply so satisfying not gonna lie

ОтветитьI really appreciate your passion for images, the realities of creating them, and for teaching others. Humbling.
ОтветитьI like every photo more that he say is worse
ОтветитьI prefer the term mindfulness to observation if we are mindful of our environment then we observe much better, and I know it's kind of the same word that I practised mindfulness a lot when I'm out in nature. I listen to the birds and I listen to the waves and I'm drawn to sounds and then I go okay how do I capture that in an image.
ОтветитьI think I have discovered the most amazing channel to learn photography.
ОтветитьThank you again for a wonderful video. You mentioned workshops. Are you hosting workshops? If so, please send details.
ОтветитьAmazing video which is insightful and helps me a lot.
ОтветитьI've seen a number of your videos and have also visited your website and looked at all of the prints you're offering for sale. And, I'm wondering if you more commonly take and edit a single shot, or do you more commonly take multiple shots at different exposures and "blend" them to get the benefits of the varying amounts of light in different locations in the composition? Thanks in advance...
ОтветитьThank you! I'm a beginner with an iPhone and you explain things so well. Blessing.
ОтветитьWhat kinda camera and lense did you used for the outdoor video ?
ОтветитьI want to see Nigel photographing the Himalayas in Nepal.
ОтветитьCan believe I can watch this stuff for free
ОтветитьI need some advice from a more experienced photographer on what to do:
I have been building a small portfolio of my favorite shots so i have something to show people, I was really wanting to start a new instagram page and put them up there, then they could just look at my instagram page. But the issue i am having is, I am worried about people stealing my photos off of instagram. Should I not be worried about this? I was thinking of putting a watermark on them, but they dont look very good, and are easily removed. I cant afford to be taking shots for people just to steal as I am pretty poor. But is that something that I just shouldnt care about? Or do I not even put them on instagram? Or is that just cost of doing business and starting out, is a few photos being stolen?
Any and all advice from anyone with more experience than me is welcomed. Thanks for reading.
Dude. The apple part. Brilliant.
ОтветитьVery nice!
ОтветитьI'm new to photography and I don't really care for heavy editing. It's like auto tuning vocals. It's deceiving. I dunno, I like experiencing the raw truth in things.
ОтветитьReally love the care you took is walking through your examples and video clips to explain your points. So super helpful, thank you so much!
ОтветитьOh Pebbles you make me smile and laugh…Great video! Light and editing are the two things I’m trying to learn and to me are the most challenging. Thank you for the wonderful tips and ideas. I learn so much from you. 😊
ОтветитьNow addicted to these videos Nigel. Main takeaway - slow down! Difficult when fitting a hobby around family responsibilities, but ultimately it will bring more reward. Thanks for sharing - relaxing and inspiring (and Pebbles to boot!).
ОтветитьIn my humble opinion neither of the first two images are good.
