What I like about this album, James's vocals are so clean, barely no effects to his singing.. Awesome!

St anger is a piece of thrash album but that songs shines like a diamond in a thrash can.

I didn't listened for years this song ... But now I have to say , it is a heavy song and has some agressiv parts, and the lyric is very deep... If you have no depression, anxiety or some serious mental health issue you will not able to understand the meaning of the lyric... And yes this song needs some iq to understand what is this song about ... and as artist they have very well interpreted this feelings... Had grow up to understand this and go through some shit ... This is a very fine and well written song! ( i know the snare... But boring, get over with it & try to listen it with other ears, i don't think so here is everyone a Beethoven or Mozart... Btw. Why do I still have this feeling???

This song really feel the lyrics big time.

St. Anger came out when I was a broody 14-year-old with (at the time) undiagnosed clinical depression. Now I'm 34, have been through MUCH worse stuff than what my 14-year-old self was going through (generalized anxiety, panic disorder, severe clinical unipolar depression). I've faced feeling suicidal multiple times, went through 2 periods of homelessness (I'm good now, don't worry!), been sexually harassed and had to look over my shoulder for creepy men constantly (and even a few women), and have been betrayed by people who I thought were my friends multiple times in my life.

It accumulates into sadness, depression, hopelessness, PTSD, panic attacks, constant anxiety, paranoia, anger, crying, sobbing, screaming, outright weeping, loneliness, self-isolation, distrust, tremendous difficulty making friends, suicidal thoughts/desires in some instances, and rage.

Oh, the rage.

Words cannot express how much freedom this song has given me for 20 years. It's like not a single word in the lyrics is spoken in vain. I can't even truly formulate how accurate this song is for describing everything that comes with trauma and mental illness. There was a time after a traumatic even where I quite literally woke up every day praying for God to strike me dead.

But He had other plans.

In my case, medication, but above all my FAITH, has given me the ability to start healing and forgive where I can. The mental illness has not gone away, but it's manageable and I have Jesus when the Darkness settles in.

I will speak the good about St. Anger as a ehole album until the day I die, especially this track. Every word I used in my list, every word I used to describe it, every word and letter shown and spoken in the video truly cannot name the agony that seizes your mind, heart, and gut when it comes to mental illness.

And that, truly, is the Unnamed Feeling.

Most people won't understand it, but metallica dropped one of the biggest alternative metal albums with this one.

It took this long for you to find out St. Anger is a masterpiece? Well, I dont carry that blame, I always loved it

The best band ever.

A lot of folks complain about this album as having too much teen-ish angst. But as I’ve grown into my adulthood and dealing with years of mental health struggles, I understand these songs better than I ever could have wanted as a teen. Give it another shot.

People don't give this album enough of a chance. I absolutely love it. I think Lulu was the one album these guys failed with. That one doesn't work for me. Everything else they've done is awesome.

I will never understand the hate behind St. Anger. People only look at this album for it’s music but this albums messages and meaning are some of Metallica’s best.
