Review of Bombay Sapphire gin!

I love Gin, and specifically Bombay Sapphire, because it leaves me fairly clear headed, in that I don't have a "headband" or pressure headache. I'm actually one of those people who doesn't experience hangovers - I get the bad effects after one or two drinks. So having a strong clear liquor that doesn't have me wanting to die a few minutes later is amazing.

Also, personally I appreciate the harshness. Why take a piss about it? I like a solid drink that'll have me on my ass if I'm not careful, but is also a bit merciful. This bottle is personally the reason I think Gin is simply one of the best alcohols, period

Yeah, I have to disagree, this is such a really well rounded drink. It's not supposed to put on airs, you have a bit and you know you're in for a long night, but it will be a good long night

Best gin in the world. Best bottle in the world. Best price in the world. I usually give the $17 bottle as a gift.

Hmmm, maybe I'll have to taste again. Sapphire was one of my favorite Gins. I thought is was smoother than Beefeaters and with great botanicals ! I liked it in martini's. I'll have to view more of your videos. I usually prefer my premium gins watered down with a touch of vermouth instead of tonic water. Maybe you like Tangueray, but that was my G&T gin.

I always thought the sapphire was blue. I've only drank Tanqueray, just because that's what I've always gotten I've tried Gordons and I fond it tested and smelled like isopropyl, Where as the Tanqueray has a strong juniper flavour with and I don't taste the alcohol much.

Bombay Sapphire is like Passport or Red label whiskey, people consume it because it’s best in its price range, not because it’s premium fine gin!

I think you are definitely onto something mate. I started off on Gordon's and then moved onto Bombay Sapphire since I thought that was the upper market one (tbh it's pretty much the only two they sold in most pubs in Australia) now after trying some Japanese gins and getting some variety in me I can't believe the difference there is between them.

I can really notice that chemical taste in Bombay and it really brings it down. There's so much good gin out there to try i'm not going to waste my money on anymore on Bombay. Catching up on your reviews and really enjoying your content, taking notes for next time i'm at the bottle shop!

I think that it is a wonderful gin. Not something I would consider my favorite, but still very nice depending on ones mood. Generally I prefer Plymouth or Tanqueray.

Bought it yesterday (I have like 0 experience with gin) and thought pretty much the same and was confused wether this is good gin and I just don't like gin or if it's just "meh".
It tastes a lot better with cold tonic water and lime and I can see myself drinking that and enjoying it, but the gin itself is really harsh.

If you want to try a very funky combination that will probably mess you up for the night, try a few shots of this gin + fireball in an almost 1:1 ratio :)

Edit: I may add that the only other 2 gins I had that were both some random cheap brands were much much worse, so this isn't a terrible one, just not as pleasant as I expected it to be.

The smell is great he doesn't know jack shit especially with all those notes

I love this gin in my gin and tonics, but I prefer other gins for my martinis

This was the first gin I ever bought and I was disappointed that the gin wasn’t blue. However, to my inexperienced 19 year old palate, it tasted pretty good darn good mixed with ice and pink lemonade.

What a laugh. I’m just starting out with gin and bought a bottle of Roku. Your review of made me so eager to try it, but I am still working my way through a bottle of this Bombay. I figured I should watch your review of this one too so I can feel better about drinking it before I get to the roku, but unfortunately that plan backfired!

Probably doesn't taste that great because the higher alcohol content . Its bit like if you drink Jim beam then try some Glenfiddich . The Glenfiddich is so strong it just taste like petrol , where the Jim beam actually has a nice taste and is smooth

Bobby, this is strange. Just finished a martini, made with the dregs of a bottle of Gordon's and Martini & Rossi Vermouth, with a lemon twist, something I've had countless times. But this time, it tasted like Bombay Sapphire! Go figure. Never happened before!

I got interested in Gin a few months ago and have been watching your videos to learn about the different gins. Ive bought several bottles, beefeater, tanqueray, and yesterday I bought Bombay Sapphire. I opened it up and it smells just like cologne. If I don't drink it, I'll end up using it as such cause the smell and flavor is just not there. I'll try it every which way I can think of but right off the bat, it's just not good.

If there is no Tangueray Ten, Bombay Saphire will certainly do.

This was the first gin I ever tried, and unfortunately I got stuck in a loop of just getting it because it was what I knew and was familiar with. On a whim this past week I finally decided to change things up and try something new. While I still enjoy Bombay Sapphire enough that if it's what is offered I wouldn't turn it away, I don't think I would ever actively choose it over other gins.

I always pass out and wake up not knowing who I am and where I am at. This bottle is evil.

Taste like pine niddles

This was the first gin I ever tried and it was today and I honestly didn’t enjoy it I found it super strong but tasted alright I want to try mixing it with something and then trying it

I drank it a few years ago during a lonely night at a hotel. Found it in the minibar, was having trouble sleeping so I thought to myself: why not try this, I saw it everywhere before, can't be that bad.
Tried it, was horrible, just taste like chemicals. Not even the good tasting kind you find in soda. Seriously tasted like shoe care products with artificial spice added. Put me off gin for good.

The first Gin I ever tried was Bombay Sapphire, my thoughts after were "Probably the last time I'll be buying Gin, I'll stick to my Vodka.
The second Gin I ever tried was three days ago Tanqueray No 10 because I watched some videos from you, Tim and Tonic and FreePour. Safe to say this Tanq 10 is my current main bottle that I be sipping on.

Bombay gin and tonic is good together

I just opened a small bottle of it just now. I thought it smelled like a cologne that I had used before but I could not quite place it as to which one.

This tastes like mouthwash.

It tastes like a slightly higher quality Aristocrat. If I went to a bar and ordered gin and they handed me this; I’d still take it.
