No way would that movie been good if Britney Spears was Allie.. I can’t even picture any one doing that part but Rachel M… Honestly it would had tanked. I can’t even go there I’ll hush!

I don't think he has ever been a womanizer, but after being with Sandra Bullock for a year, it is hard to believe he knew nothing about girls. In fact in his earlier movie with Bullock, the looks he gives her as devious, evil and attractive teenager show he really did already know how it was done. In The Notebook Noah is 19 at the beginning and Ryan was 22, Brad Pitt was 39, Tom Cruise was 40 and Matt Damon was 33. Most of these comments were from 9 years ago and anyone who has seen "Crazy Stupid Love" and still thinks of him as "fairly goodlooking" needs glasses. Look, I am 77 and had barely heard of him and never seen a movie of his until Barbie, but I have seen all of his movies now and a lot of interviews and he has just gotten more adorable in every way, including his looks. None of those others, while maybe being better looking in the case of Pill and Cruise or sweeter in personality in the case of Matt, none of them are even close for being he entire package.

I can't believe that whoever produced this did not understand that you don't record a voice with the microphone so far away that room echo makes it so difficult to understand him. And to make things worse they have music in the background further exacerbating the problem. Rachel and Ryan were fine because they were miked properly. So, jeilin26, LEARN.

I saw Britney's screen test for ally and she did a pretty nice job, but she was definitely wrong for the part. Rachel's screen test on the other hand.. dude, she killed it. She was phenomenal.

What a shame that these two couldn’t work things out, both onscreen and in real life.

After I saw Ryan in the movie I fell for him, even thought he was becoming competitive with Brad Pitt (who I've carried a torch for for years). It's his humble, sweet attitude that is so loveable. And his face is very cute! Seeing Rachel in the interview showed that the sweet, enthusiastic smile she shows was not just acting. I think it made it for her.

Really can't imagine anyone else playing Noah and Allie ........ and then these two fall in love in real life and they appeared as passionate for each other outside of the movie as their two characters in the movie. I find it rather sad that they didn't stay together. Compatibility ain't the most important thing in a romantic relationship - hopelessly being in love is.

I don't understand when people say that Ryan is not your typical handsome male lead. I feel in love with him every since Young Hercules. He was always good looking. Maybe less masculine looking than others actors of his time, like Josh Hartnett and Ben Affleck, but he was always gorgeous 😍

Ryan was perfect for the role. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise have been recycled many times and this is the first time I hear of Matt Damon. It’s just that Ryan has his own unique beauty and charisma. He’s such a calm laid back man. And I think thats what Nick saw in him. And Rachel is just wonderful for the role, aside from her beauty, I think her voice emits so much emotion. Great actors.
