A couple problems with these slim LED lights that have different manufacturers (but all from China):
1) the transformer unit gets hot
2) the lights can flicker, especially when used with a dimmer, and if you run other devices on the same circuit
3) I think that the color is a very narrow bandwidth, which gives the room a kind of sterile look. I have older LED bulbs that have seem to have a broader spectrum of light - it seems more natural.
I am concerned about fire risk for (1), and (2) is an annoyance, I would rather pay more to get the product that performs the way I want.
Couldn't find the link for GTAelectric and the discount code anywhere in the description. @Jeff or other members here, could you please specify on this?
ОтветитьWhat do you do if the old light you are replacing doesn't have long enough wires to move it to where you need it? Can you connect the old and new wires in a box and leave it tucked in the ceiling and then run the new wires to where the light will be?
Ответить❤Thanks again, to my Dad #2!
It's so great you are always awake to help with late night projects when my dad is fast asleep on the East Coast! ✌️😘
When the LEDs go out you may have to change the whole fixture. I haven't seen replacement LED light bulbs yet.
-I have changed out fixtures for this reason.
How do you replace the LED if it goes out? it's not like a light bulbs replacement. Do i have to buy a whole new unit?
ОтветитьI’ve been using those motion sensor lights for common area in my multi units for like five years. Saves SOOOOOO MUCH ENERGY
ОтветитьMan how I love those . I have tons of solar led I’ve been experimenting with . AMAZING. I need to put those indoors .❤
ОтветитьYou have links for a thousand unrelated products, but no links for any of the products shown in the video.
ОтветитьJeff, wanting to add about 4-6 of these in my kitchen (we only have 1 central ugly boob light lol), but our joists run right to the drywall. Is there anyway to run the lights around joists without putting a hole in them? Needing to avoid cutting unnecessary lights in the ceiling since my ceiling is wallpapered 😔
ОтветитьRegarding slimline LED lights. Are these a good choice for apartment building stairwells? I have 4 level buildings. The reason these interest me is that when people move stuff in and out of their apartments, that they won't smash the light bulb hanging in the common light socket. The one light fixture is between two doors on each floor. Will this be enough to correctly and safely illuminate the stairs in between each floor? How long of a life can I expect of them if the lights are on 24 hours a day? Also, imagining that I have those round electrical boxes that I screw the Plain-Jane corkscrew light sockets into, do I remove them and and wire directly? Would 4" vs 6" make a difference in my scenario?
If these aren't suitable, can you suggest alternatives that might better suit my scenario at a reasonable price? Are there brands or models that you believe in more than others?
Thanks.
Utedoors. Must be Xanadian.
ОтветитьI have 2 switches that control a wall outlet for a floor lamp. I want to use these pod lights but want the 2 switches to control them. How should I rewire this.
Ответитьcooper halo is the only brand to use when your a real electrician everything else is just issues waiting to happen lol
ОтветитьI rarely click the like button when told to do so………………I clicked the like button!!!
ОтветитьIm looking on you amazon page for the motion sensor and the directional and can’t find it...🤔
ОтветитьI have 18 of the six inch fixtures (aluminum frame "Cloudy Bay" brand from Amazon) and they are dropping like flies (after one year in operation). The just stop working. I have a theory as to why they are failing. They are overheating! Or rather the power supply is overheating. They are overheating because they have blown-in insulation right up against them (in an attic) and they are only rated for a maximum operating temperature of 40 degrees C (which I think is very low). I have swept away the insulation at each fixture and covered the emitter and power supply with a small cardboard box and covered with insulation over the box so as not to create 'energy loss portals' into the unconditioned attic. The heat created from the fixtures can distribute throughout the airspace under the box but it still cannot escape. I hope this works. These things should be rated to operate at a much higher temperature OR the installation instructions should give some guidance how to insulate behind them.
ОтветитьAre you on drugs? U seems really speedy, i get exhausted just watching u. Sorry thumbs down
