Some of the Gratefull Dead music is very progressive and Jerry Garcia one of the great guitarists; definitely a musical genius and likely a founder of the concept ‘jam band’ which in itself is a progressive idea; and, I do believe prog has one meaning and that is “progressive” which would always have the requirement that it be experimental in nature. Pretty basic stuff. Sorry if I sound pedantic but my heart hopefully is in the right place and stand to be corrected.

There can be no doubt that Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed and Confused” dvd is prog rock thru the heart. My first experience with prog was probably Iron Butterflies “innagadadavida” (sp?) in the 60s. So it goes. Since then every genre has some appeal but is a bit of work at times to discover the nuggets, for instance Johnny Cash; although not prog. Also, David Bowie’s last recording which took place on his death bed.

Muito bom. tenho esse dvd até hoje, comprado em banca de jornal la no início dos anos 2000. me fez conhecer a banda Caravan e outras que estavam aparecendo, como o karnataka.

Robably insufficient rehearsal by the orchestra.

Excellent compilation with some unknown (to me) songs and special renditions of known ones.

It is a fine sample of this wonderfull time when art and music walk toghether. I back in time from my 66 to 16 when I started a collection of more that one thousend LP much of them of Progresive Rock. I appreciate your work and watch those groups for the first time is amazing. Thak you soo mouch!

Damn when music was worth its salt. Amazing bass riffs on the Caravan track! Brit prog and jazz was tops in late 60s & 70's hard to top.

Actually, it's Darryl, & it's a viola; easy to tell the difference - a viola burns for longer.

Caravan is a British National Treasure.

ELP, Focus, and Wakeman. You got that part right. A little Gentle Giant, puts the progressive train right on the rails (or off the rails in a poly rhythmic way). ; )
