Life before OSHA.
ОтветитьNowadays people act like buildings grow out of the ground. If you say you are an ironworker they look at you funny. Then when you go to explain it they look at you more funny. People these days are either really dumb or have dumb parents that teach there kids nothing at all because they themselves are dumb.
Ответить😯😯
ОтветитьToday Americans can't drive down the street without a seatbelt on.
ОтветитьSo of those who risked their lives working there, how many actually lost their lives working on this building?
ОтветитьJust watching this give me butterflies in my stomach. I'll never do this.
ОтветитьThey are actually Newfoundlanders, not Irishmen.
My great uncle from Newfoundland Canada is Richard Fennell, the guy in the middle wearing no shirt. Most of the guys on that beam earing lunch were from Bonavista Bay
The most famous crews were from Conception bay. Like the Doyle’s, Costellos, and famous Billy Quinlan. President of one of the steelworkers unions.
Cameraman never dies
ОтветитьPioneers of vertical construction!
ОтветитьTime changes; if this happens today in another country, I would image US will accuse and sanction it for human right abusing.
ОтветитьThe skyline 90 years ago is very impressive
ОтветитьOne ole boy on the right got a bottle or shine
ОтветитьThe courage that they had speaks volumes when your hands start sweating just by watching them at work. I would be clinging to one of those side beams hanging over the city streets with a death-grip even if I were wearing a solid secure safety harness.
ОтветитьTutti migranti coraggiosi e grandi lavoratori
ОтветитьA time when a man was a man! And didn't think he was a woman.
ОтветитьThat's real red white and blue. Right there
ОтветитьSweating my balls off watching this...
ОтветитьFor years, I thought that the photo of the eleven workers having their lunch on the beam must have been trick photography or careful editing, because I knew that there were a lot of publicity photos taken. When I saw photos of the photographers balancing on the beams, reality hit me between the eyes. In these days of health and safety regulations, it seems incredible that these workers put their lives at risk on a daily basis in the lifetime (just) of my parents.
Ответитьكيف لهولاء الرجال ان يخاطرو بحياتهم كانهم جالسون على ظفة نهر ويتغازلون في الحديث يالهم من شجعان.
ОтветитьAmericans are so brave
ОтветитьWhy are we celebrating the fact that they had to work under these deadly conditions and 14 people died? I do see what's so american about it tho.
ОтветитьIf someone fell who got their lunch?
ОтветитьThey had Ironworker's there too!!!! They sure had pride in there work!!! They worked so high their, for their job's... 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤.....
ОтветитьNow I’m going to have nightmares……I absolutely hate heights…even more so now! They were definitely brave in those days.
ОтветитьCan you imagine that if cameras and video recorders had not existed at that time, we would never have known this impressive image and the courage of these men, as well as the work of these brave photographers who risked their lives to leave us these beautiful memories of the past. Thanks for sharing the video.
ОтветитьThese men are totally unbelievable, i get dizzy standing on the pavement, i got a jigsaw of the picture, just fantastic.
ОтветитьShow those feminist groups
ОтветитьHell naw 😳 grandpa was crazy as hell 😂
ОтветитьTo us Union Ironworkers, it’s just another day.
ОтветитьDifferent time, different mentality. Have we progressed or have we declined since this time?
ОтветитьJust incredible brave workers. What happens when the one in the middle wants the toilet.
ОтветитьLunchtime must be the most commen plcter in in b n b dinning rooms
ОтветитьYou see the picture ones you never forget it..
That what happens to me exactly..
I saw it and when I went home that was the first thing i do.. isearch for it!
These guys had some serious grapefruits 😊
ОтветитьI couldn’t do it, hats off to them!
ОтветитьOk it's a very great picture, but... it's not like there's 800 feet of air beneath these guys. They are just one floor (maybe 10 or 12 feet?) above the last floor under them. Lots of forced perspective going on here.
ОтветитьThese men risk their life every day..
ОтветитьHumanity is better off when good men take productive risks. Do not be sad for them, do not shy away. Be proud.
ОтветитьYou can see everything except the wooden planks under them.
ОтветитьThe one on the left is me. 😁
ОтветитьF*** that
ОтветитьNo names But Legends for sure
ОтветитьEven crazier when i remember someone telling me it was common place for these workers bck then to dribk a couple beers at lunch. Walking those beems a little tipsy
ОтветитьAnd you're looking The Men Who Built This Nation along with other men just like them
Ответитьback when there were MEN. i wont even comment on the men we have now days since the liberals destroyed America.
ОтветитьJust give us little respect that's all we need!
We never let you go up there woman!
A me solo a vedere il video mi gira la testa
ОтветитьAnd how many fell down and died? Nobody is answering that
ОтветитьThose men are Ironworkers.
ОтветитьAmazing. Almost scares me to just look at these. Incredible men.
