A testament of her talent that as one of the most attractive actresses ever she could embody one of the most repulsive women ever.

London Calling. The interesting thing about actors is that they bring charm and seduction to people they're playing. I lived through the 1980s with Thacther's policies and she was such a vile B!tch who ruined millions of lives, no amount of charm can disinfect that nasty wide open m**g who made our lives hell.

I love her, and i didnt realize it was Gillian because she played thatcher so freaking well!

I thought the series was full of excellent portrayals. I especially enjoyed the young queen and several others. However I have to say that Anderson kind of stole the show. Every minute of her Thatcher was thrilling. She creeps close enough to the edge of parody that you can catch a glimpse, but she remains safely on top, which I think is a perfect choice for a person such as Thatcher. Of course, even though I was old enough to watch her on the news, I'm not a Brit so I don't have the same intimate understanding on how she came across. But for what it's worth: Bravo to Anderson.
On a side note, the most popular politician in my country today (Solberg, Norway) holds Thatcher as her highest career idol as far as I know, as I am sure is the same for many other politicians around the world. Make of that what you will.

Never understood why in this series they masterfully cast English roles and they looked so much like actual persons

The glorious Gillian Anderson. It's so beautiful to see her.. Bedelia in Hannibal will always be my favourite role of hers. She is elegance and that voice of hers was made for well written scripts. The tilts, head shakes, and overall glare was mastered perfectly. She should do more historical roles.
