Sooo When are you going to team up with some coders and start developing your own plugins???? Kind of seems like a logical evolution of this..

can anybody actually here the difference when you change the shape of the attack and the release? maybe if you have super long attacks and releases for some weirdo special cases, but for the vast majority of normal compression settings, surely no human can even hear the difference, or at least it makes next to zero difference in your mix. or am i totally wrong?

Bought all of Sonible stuff, having all of them already cracked, also Ozone and FabFilter. Sonible deserves all my money. They just did the best plugins out there, AS IT MUST BE. If they do top notch plugs, then I'm happy to pay.

This legit is nothing special, except for beginners to understand compression but that's it, about the drawing compression, maximus in fl studio can also do this and even is multiband/no latency and very low cpu as it is a native plugin

Edit: the drawing of the release and attack curve is kind of worth it tho, might buy it just for that

Or just "LEARN" how to use one of the 24 comps you have now. Maybe im old school, but i like how the 1176 (insert favorite comp) sounds. I like its controls. Why would I ever sit there messing with shapes? I just want to compress a kick. I just want compression on an overhead. I dont need 35 parameters on a compressor. Do people actually put that much into compressing a drum bus? Boomer rant over. Ill stick with my C6.

Fabfilter is awesome especially L2 and Saturn, but I recently bought Smart Comp and Smart EQ and I'm very impressed. But is it just me or is the side chain compression / spectral ducking in first SmartComp a lot more subtle (which I preferred)?

Most of those things were there in the first iteration. And I actually like the first one's interface better. Can't say at a glance that this one is a compressor.

NOPE! NOPE! NOPE! Not all that!!! Checked it out and it is more for visual than hearing what you are doing! There as some neat features - but that's all it is. It doesn't sound great at all. There's literally free plugins that sounds better than this. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much money they invest in these new "AI algorithms" research coding -- it will always come down to how your ears perceive and hear what you're doing in your mix!

First you did not delete anything and fabfilter has always received good reviews and appreciation. Fab Filter is very decent and consistent in improving the product line not expanding but keeping the focus. The made choices and and set the standard for a good balance between function and clean GUI. I think they did this pretty well in an intuitive way without compromising any feature or function. All makes sense and they will keep going in the right direction of improving things. Many developers did try to get the feel of Fab and some succeed to build on and improve some parts. Fab is not loosing sleep quickly and not gonna look to the 'competition' to implement things different. I agree sonible did a great job with Smart Comp 2 but it's not fair to burn down Fab for this. Everybody knows that you did not delete Pro-C and I think it's a weak gesture to present the plus while destroying the reference. I need to make a compilation of you telling why you love Fab over a variety of plugins you always presented Fab like the example of how things should be GUI wise. You make yourself look pretty dishonest and inconsequent almost like you forgot where you came from and have no sense of loyalty. I don't say you can't point out the differences and but it's like you say your ex was ugly compared to your new girlfriend. While being with her for a decade. A know the analogy sucks but your clickbait title sucks more. You would not have needed to pull down Fab for the point of you preference leans to SmartComp 2 today. You may have you opinion obviously and express this in detail but the suggestion of deleting is a bad choice and mainly for the purpose of views.

Thanks for mentioning the thing about AI determining how the compression should be set up for you. I thought it was just me but how can "the Robot"(Fab Filter) just like tell me how my music should be compressed. I tell the robot what to do. not the other way around. LOL Thanks for the review. This looks like something I may need to invest in because it's close to what a dbx analog compressor is going for (used at this point).

I'm putting a bit of money in my plugins... I really hope you are sincere about how good this one is, as I will be buying it in a few minutes... It seems really great from what I understand about compression, and I am hoping it helps me learn exactly how compression works, as you said it can help you learn compression. Thanks for the vid!
