They sell supplements that you can give them that is supposed to stop the pee from killing the grass. Im going to try it soon but we are planting grass and flowers right now.

I recently found your channel and I love your videos! I have 4 large dogs! One Great Dane/English mastiff, one Doberman, and two massive German shepherds. They are my world. You’ve inspired me to try introducing raw food in their kibble and possibly making a full transition in the future!

I love it. I have been waiting for the right time to get my mastiff puppy and its been over 10 years. I finally have him. His name is King Musa and he is 11 weeks old. At 9 weeks i taught him sit, lay down. Give me paw, and to come to me. He’s pretty smart and i also have him walking on a leash pretty well. Still needs work but im working on it. My question first is, you have nice furniture and so do i. My plan is to feed him outside which i already do, and to keep a towel with me. So does your furniture stay clean? Do they mark their territory and slobber on your furniture? If so please tell me what you do and what you used to keep your home clean and fresh from that issue. Right now im okay because he’s crate training and im slowly introducing him to walking around the house. Also im really scared of him marking territory because we have a 13 year old 7 pound Pomeranian shin Tzu mix that is a female. Please give me your opinion.

Thank you for that great channel. I met just once an English mastiff. He looked to my eyes and I fell in love. From that day My brain trying to convince me that mastif is not a right dog for you, it is messy and big, and they don’t like to have lot of exercise or hiking, but my heart just thinks about them. Your channel is huge help that I can make my brain and heart meet and have some logical discussion 😀

Hi big dog mom! was wondering if you could give more tips on how you keep the mess of a mastiff down. For example do you always just let them drink and eat outside? My big guy makes the worse mess eating and drinking. That's probably the one thing I don't enjoy about giant breeds.

How do you find having two males. We are getting a English mastiff this winter and already have a male dog at home. Would prefer a male but not sure if it would be a issue.

If you get pet insurance, get breeder/inherent plan. I had pet insurance in my mastiff still day...well I kept say my pups eyes were not good. I was right,he has infant cataracts. If I bought that higher plan..the $6,500. Eye surgery would of been covered I have 2 giant bred dogs, 1 a great Pyrenees, and our Mastiff. I feel it's worth every penny

Fellow mastiff owner here! I worked in veterinary medicine for many years, so even though I'm late to post, I hope you might catch a glimpse of my post to help with weight loss.

So, I know it's trendy and everyone feels like "raw is better" but that is not necessarily so. That's because it's very hard to estimate the number of calories in a raw diet. If you were my patient, my suggestion would be to purchase a high-end dog kibble (I feed Origen large breed) and feed them only about 5 - 6 cups a day. For treats, I give my mastiff frozen green beans, broccoli, carrots, and freeze-dried chicken breast for training. When they are hungrier from less kibble/food, they'll gladly take those green beans!

Just remember that the USDA regulates dog food and requires that it has the proper balance of nutrition for your animal. It might upset their bellies some at first, but they'll get used to it.

You could try and get those big boys moving more by playing fun games with them too. My mastiff loves to play fetch and also with flirt poles. He also loves to do agility (it's silly looking, but he really stumbles around those poles), so you might find a local trainer or agility class.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for sharing your day, I live in Melbourne Australia and have a 3 year old brindle female purebred English mastiff…she is wonderful gentle, kind, friendly, playful and crazy about food! I must say I don’t think your guys are overweight they look just fine to me! Are they desexed or entire ?My girl will be desexed in a few weeks. I am interested in the harnesses you have on them what is the brand? Do they work well? What is the advantage of using a harness? Anyway thanks again, kisses to (hope I’ve got the names right) Sully and Jules (?), regards from Ann, also a mastiff mum and saving up for a male in the future! If my Ivy needs to trim down a bit I reduce the feed and replace with mixed steamed vegetables with a bit of stock and increase exercise, regards from Ann🇦🇺🐨🦘

The insurance industry is a profit earning industry and the rates charged by them are based on costs incurred by them (claims) from a large pool of insured customers. They add a profit margin on top of their average costs to calculate the premium they charge. Pet insurers calculate this based on specific breeds, which have known illness risks. Therefore, on average you are better to not be insured, as your average medical bills for your dog breed will be the cost of insurance premiums minus the profit margin. There will be some dog owners who, if not insured, will incur costs less than the premiums and some who pay more.

We have in the past had two Great Danes and a Bullmastiff, we now have an English Bulldog, and we made the decision, for the rationale given in my prior comment, not to take out pet insurance.

I can tell you love your dogs but they are massively overweight which is why you have to coax them out of bed. Just like fat people they don’t want to do much. Wikipedia will say that this breed can be up to 100kg but that is only if you want your dog to have a short and unhealthy life. It should be 80kg and their diet should be mostly fresh meat with some kibble and supplements from the vets that you can sprinkle on their food. I absolutely promise you that if you put your dogs on a diet they will become more active, funnier, happier and living a lot longer. Best of luck to you ❤️

Not sure if you’ve gotten this solved yet, but Underground Fencing is a great option. I’ve worked in the field for about 4 years now and I’ve used this for 2 of my own personal dogs, with LOTS of success. I’ve trained English Mastiffs and I can assure you, they work WONDERFULLY for them. Being that these guys tend to be a very sensitive breed, they surprisingly don’t always need a lot in the strength department, usually.

GeoFencing is awesome. The problem is, when you have a lot of big things along the edge of your property such as sheds and trees, they tend to cause a lot of interference and will disrupt how precise they can be. It looks like you have a pretty beautiful, but heavily wooded yard, so my best advice would be to go with the traditional, Invisible Fence. It’s reliable and it can go on ANY sized collar, at least that’s the case where I’m from! Just remember to swap out those batteries!

My husband and I have 3 EM, all bio sisters. Ages 1,1 & 2. All with hip dysplasia sadly. We use all the same supplements and will definitely look into the brands you use.

We use Nutra source kibble brand for our food. We looked into raw but as you said it’s practically and with 3 wow!! Lol I do make part of their food. Lots of chicken, veggies , potatoes and they get all the treats. I haven’t made a bone broth I am happy with so I’ll definitely watch your video.

Definitely do guard more and on more high alert. There father is 270 and mom is 175. For their benefit I hope they don’t get much bigger. The oldest is 110 pounds and the others are 95 pounds.

We do have pet insurance for all 3. We got it when they were all 8 weeks. Definitely beneficial for us!

We do live in an HOA and I just got out fenced in yard this last year. Its enough right now for them to get exercise. We did walks but it’s definitely hard with 3. We do it occasionally now.

Just found you. I guess I should start from your beginning. I share a home with my Bull Mastiff Mighty Thor. The grandson’s added the Mighty. Thor will be two in July. I put him on a diet a couple months ago. Thor went from 195 down to 177. And I registered Thor with AKC. I enrolled in their pet insurance. He ended up needing it at 5 months. I enjoyed your video.
