ОтветитьHow long do the seeds last please?
ОтветитьThanks, figured out why my beets wont flower, they need a cold cycle. I have the biggest beets ive ever had, about the size of a softball and was wondering why they wouldnt flower for me.
ОтветитьThis popped up and I thought 🤔 gold beet seed cost a bomb 💣 do they make seed pods the same as the red varieties if so omg it’s a game changer and I’m going to certainly give it a go. Have a super week, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
ОтветитьHelpful video! Thanks!
ОтветитьThis is enabling my beet addiction 😂😂😂😂 Thank you.

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
How long does it take in the second season for the seeds to be ready? Does it take until fall that second season?
Ответитьhi, a couple of quick questions: can you transplant a beetroot before it flowers? that would be useful to manage space in the garden!
and also, I heard that you need a good gene pool and so should keep at least 8 plants together to flower. How many do you keep usually?
Informative video. What is your zone?
ОтветитьCan you use a lot temp oven to dry them if they get wet
ОтветитьLove the video very educational. I would like to know how many beets should be left in ground to get vauable seeds?
ОтветитьI have Silverbeet I have let go to seed to collect next to my beetroot I have let go for seeds. Will that cross pollinate my beetroot seeds? They are both in flower at the moment.
ОтветитьThank you for this!
ОтветитьI'm growing some beets here in Thailand during our cool season, and they seem to be doing well at a daytime temperature of 30 degrees C, but I was wondering how I can get them to seed, as we don't have temperatures below say 19 degrees C. Any ideas?
ОтветитьI would love to find a beet that doesn't taste like dirt! It's like cilantro, some love the taste, and to others it tastes like you are eating a bar of soap..Beets are the same, dirt or yum....I'm a dirt taster. 😣😆
ОтветитьI'm a little bit baffled as everyplace one looks says that beets are biennial, yet a few of the ones I planted this spring are definitely producing seeds on their first year. Are there known exceptions to the 2 years for beet seeds absolute?
edit: (near Edmonton Alberta)
Thank you VERY much!!! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!
ОтветитьMy beets sprouted because I planted them early in the rains and then it got hot and they shoot to sprouting. I have tones of seed now in Oct. do you think they will not be good seed?
ОтветитьDo beets cross pollinate with each or other plants?
Ответитьpen!s
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьSu video es fenomenal.
ОтветитьAwesome video...I never knew this!! Im going2 sacrifice this season beetroot2do this!!
ОтветитьThank-you for this extremely useful tutorial on getting beet seeds. I love me my beets and want to harvest my own seed. I already knew it took 2 years, but the late start and hold over winter was something I didn’t know. I do have a question….. several of our beets went to seed in this their first growing season. I’ve never had this happen. Should I assume that the heaping pile of seeds I got are not viable?
Ответитьso what about in a hot climate like south florida?
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful thought. I can't grow beets for nothing, just gives leafs and no roots. Maybe my soil ?
ОтветитьI was late for beet class, thank you Jeff.
I want to try beets again, and dedicate a bed just for them. Great information 👍
Thank you ❤
ОтветитьGreat info, thanks so much!
ОтветитьFour years of storage - I say “great”
ОтветитьI live in Alberta but my huge garden is in Sask. We should start a seed trading co-op. I have the red and orange carrot seeds just getting ready to pick as well as the chives and basil seed crop nearly ready. Just a thought.
ОтветитьJust planted some beets. I hope they turn out this time here in 8b.
ОтветитьI also buy Westcoastseeds but man have they gotten greedy. They give you so little seeds now. For example, I bought one eggplant variety for $5.99 or $6.99 and found out, after the fact, that there were only 10 seeds!!! I will start looking for alternatives.
ОтветитьWow, this was a very informative..2 yrs. Well I may have sow the next lot in a separate area to let them stay for that time. I love beets, more so the leaves ...thanks for the info 👌
ОтветитьThere is a world of difference between how one person grows a beet, and how beets grow. It's a subtle distinction but the reason why this channel is so successful. Here we find out how beets grow, not how one person grows them.
This distinction is almost invisible the closer geographically you are to the person growing- but becomes larger with increasing distance.
My climate, even my hemisphere are opposite, yet this is the most relevant information because it relates to the growing habits of the plant, not the person.
Its taken me months of binge watching to put my finger on why this Canadian helps this Australian while other Australians are mostly useless to me.
So. Well done. See you next video 💖
