Cruel to put that girl through this, I’m afraid her hesitation to sing in front of a critical audience is justified, especially as she, for some reason, desperately desires a career as a singer, but she apparently has no experience, training, natural talent or raw passion for actually singing.
The cognitive dissonance is what she is afraid of, and with cause.
She needs to dial in on her vocal range, choose some less technical material, preferably songs which are recorded by a single voice and not heavily produced and therefore achievable for a solo a Capella performer. She then needs practice and coaching.

I was suspicious from the beginning... 1) I'd never heard of the drug company, 2) their promo ad thing was exceptionally low quality, whereas most pharma ads are very slick, 3) using something like that in a military setting would be unthinkably unethical, and 4) the drug company offices just look fake. The people look like actors, the labs aren't equipped right. I would have at the very least be suspecting something like this the whole time.
