Crazy story, true in fact, while in top tier, i killed a panther ll with an M22

War Thunder's Panther II is fake because it's a combination of the Panther II hull that was cancelled in 1943, and the Schmalturm 88 design (modeled wrongly) that was being developed in 1945 for the Ausf.F. I have no idea what Sturmling is complaining about the IS-6 though, it's modeled correctly as the Object 252, with large roadwheels and mechanical transmission. It was the Object 253 that had small roadwheels and electric transmission.

the problem of the Panther II was not the size of the gun - that is in fact the problem with the Tiger II 10.5cm -, the problem with the Panther II was simply the fact they didn't even finish designing it's turret
»the only surviving mild-steel prototype had the turret of a Panther Ausf G mounted on it by the Americans
»the Panther II would be armed with the 7.5cm cannon
»the Panther II was canceled because the Germans realized a Panther Ausf F with sideskirts would solve the vulnerability to soviet anti-tank rifles from the side
»the IR device mounted on the ingame Panther II was actually tested on a Panther Ausf G
»the idea of mounting the 88 on a Panther is actually unrelated to the Panther II, at some point the Germans were considering a universal turret for the Panthers and Pz IVs - mounting the long 75mm - and the idea of mounting the 88mm on it came after
