There truly is a place in your soul untouched by any pain or hurt. A place of beauty, strength and peace. - He was the only one able to put into words what we all feel - this place behind all of it. This place most never even realize exists, but we all long for so badly. That loud serene silence, beautiful pain and tears, and this unspeakable untouchable unattainable art around us....
ОтветитьInteresting interview. One point. John says no one is looking for yesterday.
That old Beatles song Yesterday, been popular for decades...that one...might suggest we all are!
She's silly.
ОтветитьThis transfixes you into a dream just listening to him speak.
Ответить🍀❤️
ОтветитьMy God this man was a poet because of his ability to continually practice gratitude for the beauty that existed outside himself. The very reason he could identify it so eloquently proves that it was already pre existent within him. So inspiring to listen to such a man
ОтветитьWhere is the episode with the music included?
I listen to it almost weekly. But I went to play it a few days ago and it was gone.
I assumed it was a copyright issue, but even this original (directly from the OnBeing channel/website), is different, (yet the"included" music is still listed).
Why (after all this time) was it changed?
All of the music throughout was a huge reason I loved the episode so much.
Such a disappointment. Please please bring back the musical episode.
I love and cherish anything from John O'Donohue, but this version just doesn't have the same level of inspiration. 😢
First heard this episode a few days ago, and have listened to it three times, and saved it. What a wonderful dialogue between both of you!!
ОтветитьThank you 🙏💖
ОтветитьI love this interview and have so many quotes from John written down everywhere. Thank you for such a beautiful conversation 💛
ОтветитьThe Good, the True, and the Beautiful. When these mutually verifiable guiding principles are all considered good decisions are bound to result.
ОтветитьI almost met him for a workshop at Kripalu Center :( Love him!!!!!
ОтветитьAmazing
ОтветитьSo lucky to have had John pass this way.Immense wisdom, clarity of thought & gentleness. I’ll be rereading Anam cara & other works. He’s a gift from God🙏
ОтветитьI’m struggling to hear this. It’s so intense.
ОтветитьBeautiful! Loved this xxx💚🌳🍃⚘️
ОтветитьSo sad that such a beautifully deep mind was taken so soon. So fitting that he died peacefully in his sleep, may he rest in sweet peace.
Another beautiful Irish soul to check out for anyone who hasn't is writer, philosopher John Moriarty. An incredibly deep and humble man. He too past away in 2007.
John passed away in a car accident in France. Instigated by the Catholic Church, Carpe Diem.
ОтветитьDid I hear “bleak” ?
ОтветитьNiall Breslin bring anyone else here?
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful, inspiring talk full of wisdom and humor ! 🥰 Thank you for sharing. John O'Donahue left this physical world too soon. 🙏❤️✨🌱
ОтветитьI just visited the Burren and was taken back by the utter silence there. My ears were ringing it was so quiet, it felt like being on another planet. I love John's work. When I read his books I usually have very surreal dreams, like they open up a door. Amazing work.
ОтветитьJohn O’Donohue’s beauty lives on in books, recording’s and interviews such as this. Spiritually Awesome ! ❤️

Who is Eckhart? The German mystic that he spoke of?
ОтветитьHis philosophy resonates with me. This interview has enriched my life. Thank you.
Ответить“...You can be swept off your feet by just Beauty. “ ❤️
ОтветитьWow
ОтветитьBeautiful!
ОтветитьHe provided the stepping stones to walk through his garden.
ОтветитьWhat an incredible interview. Soul connecting discussion
ОтветитьFlat out to one of the most beautiful examples of a druid hidden in plain sight! A magnificent being, who taught the core of connectedness to the divine, using the gift of imbas channeled through spoken arts. ❤🙏🏼❤
ОтветитьWow what a stunning duet. The man sings, not talks.
ОтветитьI keep coming back to this and other talks by John O'Donahue spirit and soul soothing so encouraging helpful beyond words
Ответитьthis is so cathartic! thank you! I will come back to this

Not listened to the whole thing but very suspicious of anyone who leaves the Catholic priesthood and fear he lapsed into heresy and heretical ideas very shortly after he left.
ОтветитьWowe
ОтветитьThanks so much for this
ОтветитьWhy are some of us so blessed and others unloved abused neglected and cursed from the get-go?
ОтветитьI have listen to this interview dozens of times in the last 4 1/2 years since I first heard it, and I find it wonderfully inspiring, sustaining and gratitude-engendering. Thanks for making it available here for many more people to be touched by John O’Donohue...
ОтветитьBorn 78 years ago to a large Catholic family in Ireland. Educated by the nuns. Still a believer and a churchgoer, but with many questions. My religion is comforting to me....gives me hope.
ОтветитьSo beautiful! Will save this for always!
ОтветитьIs there a society to discuss these issues ??
ОтветитьThank you for posting this fabulous interview!!!
ОтветитьGiant Fan of John O' Donohue's work. What an amazing blessed gorgeous gift man!
ОтветитьFor two years now I keep reading and re-reading John O'Donohue. All of his books are magnificent and he writes beautifully, describing mysteries like belonging, longing, solitude, stillness, beauty, prayer, presence, holiness.
This interview with Krista Tippett is priceless.
