Would be interesting to hear your take on the various forms of Berberine which supposedly aid in absorption
ОтветитьDon’t take it if you’re on blood thinners, like Xarelto. You’ll hemorrhage.
ОтветитьHave you seen any information to discourage taking berberine while entering the menopause years?
ОтветитьWould you please do a video
On bergamot please
If you have already done so
My Apologies

I cannot confirm if it’s connected but I just started taking it today, 1000 mg, and a while later got a massive headache, nausea and vomiting. Once I vomited, I felt a bit better. One thing that occurred to me is I do tend to have lower BP(not alarmingly low), so maybe that’s what caused the headache? Tomorrow, I may take only 500 mg and see if I have any of the same effects.
ОтветитьI started taking Berberine two days ago, and I've been up most of the night with leg cramps.
Ответитьis there a different natural supplement you recommend with fewer side effects? I don't enjoy nausea. Looking for appetite suppressant. Green tea works for me in the morning but cannot take it past noon due to insomnia tendencies.
ОтветитьDoctors are not gods, checking with your doctor is not always necessary or always the best course of action. Some of them are utterly useless. I have overruled my doctors countless times and am completely drug free and healthy whereas I could be currently on a long list of pharmaceutical drugs that I do not need. I have cured every condition I ever had through nutrition.
ОтветитьI have been taking it for a week and I get a odd taste in my mouth.
ОтветитьI want to take berberine for all its benefits but iam afraid of side effects or interactions iam healthy but i take concor cor 2.5 daily for fast heart beat does it interact with berberine and what about the die off effect ?
ОтветитьHi. Is Berberine safe to take along with a multivitamin?
ОтветитьI was good on Berberine the first week then I was nauseous to the point I vomited. I stayed on it thinking maybe something I ate, but I continued to be nauseous and have headaches… should I stay on it on just try 500 mg per day and skip a day?
ОтветитьI started to take B for health prevention. I am 67kg 5'6, so not overweight. 500mg for first two weeks. No real difference, so I stupidly increased the dose to 1,500 to see if there would be any change. I almost fainted in a store, so I knew my blood sugar was too low. Kept going with it for two weeks, tummy was definitely flatter. But then the chronic stomach issues started. Bloated, fullness IBS symptoms, horrible. My doctor said I should have gone to him first to discuss taking the supplement. He told me to stop taking it. It took a good 4 days for the symptoms to disappear.
ОтветитьBerberine clashed with the probiotic I was taking. Caused bloating and liver pain.
ОтветитьBerberine didn’t agree with me at all made me feel nauseous i’m also taking Gluphase for diabetics. The pharmacy said i can take both
ОтветитьFor the past week, I've been waking up with vertigo. The only new added supplement was Berberine and I took it sometime before bedtime, 500mg. Yesterday I decided to take a break off berberine for seven days to see if it was in fact causing the vertigo. This morning experienced a very very slight bout of vertigo waking up and before opening my eyes. I did not have it upon getting out of bed. It was day one of not taking berberine. I only take supplements, am 61 years old, and on no medication. I have had a consistent normal blood pressure my whole life. Anyone experience dizziness/vertigo taking berberine? By the way, my waking blood sugar has been between 105-110
ОтветитьAfter taking berberine for 3 weeks, two capsules per day. I ended up having to go to the ER because I was bloated and barely able to walk due to the terrible pain in my stomach. After having X-Rays done they told me that my digestive system had almost stopped working working. Be very careful when taking bernerine.
ОтветитьHere's a long story that tracks with Joe's video. I had a slightly high A1C (5.7) and my primary care manager made a big deal out of it and the fact my fasting glucose was about 105 for a physical exam last year. I showed her that my past A1Cs were all under 5.7 but she said they were still too high (about 5.5) and that I was likely going to be a diabetic. This spurred me into action and I found Berberine. Note: I also made one important dietary change -- I stopped eating a daily tuan fish sandwich with bread -- and went back to eating tuna out of a pouch or can. Anyway, researched Berberine and made sure it was safe. I have two rare medical conditions: Long QT syndrome and essential Thrombocythemia. I take a 50 mg dose of a beta blocker (metoprolol) for the Long QT as a preventive measure and avoid all QT prolonging drugs. And I take a baby aspirin daily for the essential thrombocythemia which is essentially high platelets. The Berberine I found online is highly rated with 600 Mg capsules, recommended twice daily. So I took the two capsules daily but after seeing some people on the the internet say that you can take up to 1500 mg to lower your A1C safely, I sometimes took three a day -- meaning I was averaging 1200 mg to 1800 mg of Berberine daily. Prior to a routine hernia surgery I went in for an ECG and felt funny that day -- light headed and like my heart was barely beating. My resting HR is usually around 54 but it was trending lower. The ECG was abnormal for a First Degree Heart Block and of course the Long QT interval which I already knew about. I immediately stopped taking all supplements that night and had my routine check-in with my cardiologist the following week anyway and so planned to see what he said about my ECG. I had another ECG when I went to see him and it was normal -- not even Long QT was showing (I still have it but the qt interval just wasnt that long that day but the good news was the heart block was gone). So I had my surgery without issue and about six weeks later I went back on Berberine. And then I had my first ever case of Afib. It came on while drinking a cold smoothie. It lasted two months before I knew what it was but it was an extremely low heart beat with vey low blood pressure and irregular heartbeat. After about a month or two I stopped taking the berberine and had a cardio inversion and they put me on lifetime Eliquis. So far I have been fine with only one bout of Afib since the cardio inversion which came about while drinking another cold smoothie and I quickly resolved with vagal maneuvers but no other episodes. After I was diagnosed with Afib and before my cardio inversion I checked Berberine side effects and drug interactions and found that people who take metoprolol should not take berberine as it enhances the effect of the beta blocker and can cause an irregular heart beat. So now I am on lifetime Eliquis because my primary care doc over reacted to a one time high A1C and caused me to take a supplement that is pretty safe but had known interactions with a drug I was taking. Perhaps I was taking too much on some days at 1800 mg. Maybe that was the problem. I dont know but I'm not messing with it anymore and I have reduced my supplement intake considerably.
ОтветитьTook it for 2 days. Went out for milkshake and pasta foods that have given me no issues before. I ended up with diarrhea and the worst hemmoroids ever. Then I ended up with constipation. Never again. Took almost 2 months to feel normal again.
ОтветитьI started Berberine over a month ago… I’ve had no problems. And my fasting glucose has been going down. I had no bad side effects. I think it matters what brand you use.
Ответитьdoes berberine interact with atorvastatin's?
ОтветитьThis seems more like drug interactions than side effects. But informative none the less.
ОтветитьI am having issues with it its my 4th week on it now i have lost a bit of weight about 2kgs however i feel indigestion heavy tummy and toilet issues are the price you pay i dont see it as long term thing for me
ОтветитьI stopped taking it today. It gives me chronic, explosive diarrhea everyday. I saw a video that said Berberine is similar to Metformin and I can not take that drug due to the side effects. They should have warnings on their labels.
ОтветитьBeen taking 2-3 500 mg capsules of berberine for last 2 months, zero issues
ОтветитьI just started taking it about 2 weeks ago. 500mg a day and now i started feeling light headed..i dont know if i should continue to see if it's my body trying to adjust to this new supplement or stop completely
ОтветитьLots of hair loss.
ОтветитьI was absolutely fine for about 3 weeks and then all if a sudden it made me vomit. Ive gone off it and back on for a day about 4 times now to make sure its berberine making me sick. All it takes is one tablet and a few hours later im vomiting. Such a shame as the first few weeks were great
ОтветитьBeen taking 1000mg divided for 2 weeks now. Felt nauseous all night. Took one this morning without eating and passed out. I don’t recommend taking it without food/carbs
Ответитьi take Elvanse and already have a low blood pressure and low blood sugar but i am overweight. I take berberine less than recommended dosage but still always feel crap and lightheaded
ОтветитьMight? May? Could? All open ended questions. This post sponsored by Pharma Bro.
ОтветитьI've been taking Berberine 500mgs twice a day. After two weeks I noticed muscle cramps and diarrhea.
ОтветитьBoth berberines (regular and dihydro) caused me to wake up in the night with a very rapid heartbeat. I haven't seen anyone else report this. It's a mystery, but enough to make me stop taking it.
ОтветитьThe left side of my neck is now Swollen after taking berberine for a month.😢
ОтветитьI had a skin reaction on face and chest my second day trying it. The first day, I only took half recommended dose, second day full amount.
ОтветитьNot sure or not, but I have had a really bad itching episode. Nothing helps get rid of it h. My dermatologist put me on Prednisone to see if I can have relief but I am still it hing..
ОтветитьBerberine lowered my neutrophil count drastically. Stopped it and blood count back to normal. Seems Berberine blocks iron absorption. Anyone else experience this?
ОтветитьI did infact have a QT PROLONGATION EVENT 18 HOURS AFTER MY FIRST DOSE OF dihydroberberine. I was careful to take it with nothing else. But, I did take a lot. More 3x recommendation. Passed out in the store. The ambulance took me to the ER WHERE I stayed for 5 days. 3 EKGs per day, and the QT PROLONGATION DISAPPEARED AFTER 18 HOURS. WAITED 3 WEEKS - TOOK IT AGAIN ONLY, A THIRD AND SUFFERED FAINTING SPELLS AGAIN THAT WERE MUCH LIGHTER. I will not use it again. But others may be fine. START WITH VERY LOW - NOT LOW DOSES.
ОтветитьAfter two years on Berberine per my doctor to lower A1C, my iron levels started trending down. I eat a healthy diet so it was confusing. I finally spoke with a compound pharmacist who said long term use can cause problems with iron absorption. They suggest cycling on and off but not consistent use.
ОтветитьI was on berberine for about 3 weeks and that's all I could take of it bottom line is never again for me. Messed up my bowel movements big time not for the better made me nauseous headache I felt bloated etc. It didn't matter whether I took it with food or without food it didn't matter if I took two pills a day or one pill a day 500 mg pill it still did the same things. Again never again.
ОтветитьBerberine gave me severe depressive disorder and suicidal thoughts. I would have never made the connection if it wasn't for threads on the Reddit community. I haven't seen anything like this reported anywhere but there about Berberine. It's extremely dangerous for a handful of people as it does something to the neurotransmitters in the brain. Scary.
ОтветитьFor me even in doses of 500 mg it caused tachycardia, extreme vomiting for hours, diarrhoea and hot flushes.
Took me a while to make the connection.
