Scott. I'm a fingerstyle banjo player. I have focal dystonia in my fretting hand. It's not all the time sometimes it kicks in for a few days. I'd really like to get that glove. Any links?
ОтветитьHi Scott, Have you tried a chiropractic adjustment in your neck for your hands? Great video. I'm a noob. Thank you.
ОтветитьWow Leeds is so much prettier than Southern California. Your opening driving montage made me want to move to England.
ОтветитьMigi, stop shaking
ОтветитьReally interesting about the gloves. I have a constant tremble in my hands, its not the same problem you have but I find myself getting really self conscious about it and stressed. Unfortunately, stress makes it worse and sometimes it can get me down to the point where I'm really depressed. Spiraling down further and further. Feel for you man.
ОтветитьOh Man! The person who called it a stupid glove was very rude and disrespectful.
I’m so sorry! This information about your personal life and your condition made me respect you even more and be grateful about your efforts to produce free content for us.
Best regards!
I liked your answer about strings. Tone mostly comes from the player, but it is annoying to get dud strings. coughRotosoundcough
Ответить😞
Ответитьyou are such a genuine person. That is as impressive as your playing and instruction.
Ответитьthank you for sharing hope it goes into remisson
ОтветитьI always thought the glove was cool.
ОтветитьI know another bass player who uses gloves and I never asked him why. Just thought it was a personal preference thing but now I’m wondering.
ОтветитьHi Scott. I also where a glove on my fretting hand. On double bass, bass guitar and piccolo bass. If love to know where you get your gloves from, and how long they last. Mine get ripped up really quick.
Keep grooving!
I'm so glad that you answered this question and I didn't want to be awkward in asking you about that. You're an amazing tutor ! All My Best !
ОтветитьHave you looked into neurofeedback to help reduce the symptoms?
ОтветитьI love the fact that you could balance your bass player life with your family life. God bless you.
ОтветитьDear Scott, I have a nerve disorder. Therefore I have no control over my hands and can’t play bass anymore. So I’m wondering what brand and sort (type) of gloves you wear. Because I hope they help me out. Thx in advance for answering. Warm regards, Bob (not the same Bob you’re mentioning in this video 😉)
ОтветитьSorry to hear about your condition, first time I hear about it. But you seem to deal with it quite efficiently!
Also, I'm a satisfied D'Addario customer as well (for more than 20 years). Rounds, flats, electric and acoustic guitar, never got a dud, never even broke one.
What kind of gloves are those?
ОтветитьI was quite curious about the gloves. I thought it was only to ease the pain of the fingers.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your disability with us. I have Charcot Marie Tooth disease, CMT for short. It's a severe nerve disorder and it disfigured the hands and feet. I'm called to play the Bass, but it's extremely hard. Your story keeps me fighting on.
ОтветитьYour a Michael Jackson pedophile is why you where them gloves😂
ОтветитьNow I know why you wear the gloves. Hopefully they find a cure for it
ОтветитьI've found my tremor (plus a weird, stiff, clumsy rigidness in my hands i can't seem to shake after like 20 years of guitar and a couple years of bass) that i've had my whole life makes it hard to manipulate a pick in many situations, and hybrid picking or fingerpicking on guitar is WAY way easier, since I have essentially 3 to 4 picks at once (leaving out the pinky 99.9% of the time) that have to travel the strings and skip strings way less than a single pick would. But doing stuff like fast metal, shredding with a pick, it's too hard.
ОтветитьThank yofor your openist...Bro...allways nice videos
ОтветитьHi Scott, I wonder what is the glove you use ? I'm suffering of hand eczema so badly and need to play with gloves. I stoped playing bass for almost a full year, then I saw you and realize I need to try it. It sure change my life. Less blood and less pain :) Right now I use cheap sport gloves that are tight enough so I don't really feel them. My issue is that they are not very tough. Is the type of glove you were can be easily found ?
ОтветитьNever would have guessed, yet you are excellent on the bass!
ОтветитьAlways wondered about the glove, great that you found a mitigation. Superb videos.
ОтветитьNow who ever asked the question about the glove should apologize because sometimes we need go just keep our mouths closed about things we know nothing about.
ОтветитьWhere can other people buy these gloves?
ОтветитьI personally think the gloves are cool as hell👍🏾
ОтветитьOut of curiosity. Are you perhaps vegan or vegetarian?
Ответитьoh im so glad see this video. i wanted start guitar, but since getting married and cooking three times a day and washing my hands a lot, my index fingertip got dermatitis or something. Thank you
ОтветитьAlso as I hit menopause my nails ridged and thin, so just jusg a pick I guess
ОтветитьWow that was fascinating sorry to hear your struggling with that but your the man for pushing through. How does it feel to be an inspiration?
ОтветитьI have this.
ОтветитьHi Scott, thanks for sharing this, so this glove really is a great help for you. About the right hand it seems that you play great with no problem even without a glove. Thanks for your amazing playing and teaching, have a nice day.
Luca from Italy ( guitarist and bass learner)😊
So some yoga !
ОтветитьYoga For the back pain, back pain gone😊
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing. That took a lot of courage to address. No doubt, as already mentioned by some folks, this story will help others also deal with their problems. God Bless You.
Ответитьyou are great
Ответитьthanks for mentionning the "pomodoro" technique 🙂. i was imagining something like that for me, and so that already developped concept will help :-) i just found "Pomodoro Technique and Your Music Practice Routine" on Berklee Online..
ОтветитьHi Scott I have the same issue with My hands what brand gloves do You perfer ? Love learning from your videos Thank You
ОтветитьThank you vm
ОтветитьWhere is the glove from?
ОтветитьI've wondered about the gloves.
Do what you have to do. The smart man adapts. See Django, Reinhardt, Rick Allen, & Tony Iomi.
What kind of gloves are they.
I'm curious if they can help me, as I had a stroke five months ago and now have intermittent tremors.
I'm a drummer, but they don't seem to affect me there thankfully. But it is sometimes a thing when I'm typing on a computer keyboard.
Thank you!
