Just to clarify, I'm not affiliated with StandOut or Marcus Buckingham--I'm just a fan of his work.

Scoble, in the language of StandOut, I'd peg you as a Pioneer / Creator. :) ~ This field (i.e. individualising people's uniqueness) has huge room for innovation When we combine context with individualisation (i.e. recognising the traits and strengths of people), then we'll really have something--especially if it's applied to the realm of education. Incidentally, Jenifer Fox is doing the individualisation side of that for education, though I'm not sure if she's incorporated context into it.

What makes StrengthsFinder and StandOut different is that, while StrengthsFinder tells you a lot about your personality, StandOut condenses the 34 StrengthsFinder themes into 8 roles. It's meant to: (1) help you see how your strengths show up to other people. (2) give you individualised, practical advice and best-practice tips gleaned from studying people who share the same strengths role as you Both are good, but I feel StandOut described me better overall.

StrengthsFinder is kind of old-school these days (thought still good). Have you seen StandOut? It's the name of a book, a strengths-assessment, and also the name of an app and web-based leadership platform for managing teams, co-created by the same guy that was involved in creating StrengthsFinder: Marcus Buckingham. If you Google "StandOut Marcus Buckingham" you should find the book. Though I think you can also just buy the team-leadership platform from the StandOut website.
