Esta escena es mi favorita de la película. La música de Eldgar la emotividad de la escena. Y la mansión dónde está rodada me parece muy buena

This scene, set up wonderfully by the previous one, is one of the most emotionally charged scenes I've ever seen. Ralph Richardson is imperious here.

Cheesy but beautiful scene, Richardson makes it. Having lost my own father not so long ago, this moment moves profoundly. To see the octogenarian scurrying out in his dressing gown stirs heartstrings hitherto unstirred.

I can guarrantee you, there is a lot of extremely celebrated directors, top 10, top 20 etc you know stupid lists of the kind, that couldnt have produced such a fine film. I was taken by surprise by the quality, even watching it in my small tv screen. In fact, good films are exactly that, surprising.

Any man of any decency would be thrilled to have his lost Grandson returned to him. This man had lost his family and was surrounded by only friends and employees, but no close family. To have his Grandson would be the ultimate reward. I know for me it would be.

Sometimes you see an old movie, made in the 70s or 80s and they age terribly. Bad acting, bad dialogue, bad music. This has aged like a fine wine. Its just perfect. Could have been made yesterday and you wouldn't have to change a thing. Well done, love this movie.

This section could easily be used to claim leaders are born instead of made, especially the blue bloods.
He made himself the Lord of the Apes, even though they were different species.

My parents taped this onto VHS for me when it came on TV. Me and my sister must have watched it a gazillion times as children but I never cried at this scene . . . . . until now. Goddamit this is a powerful scene, especially if you know what preceded it.

It's one of those scenes where you get a buildup of expectation, no matter how short.
When that "at a glance" sentence was thrown into the ring, the audience knows that in order for this movie to stay credible, the first moment of Christopher Lambert showing himself must become memorable.
And he did not disappoint.
Just one look, that was all that was needed.

I saw this movie many years ago and I was initially not sure what to expect from it at the time. But if there's one thing the movie has that keeps everything together, is the late great Sir Ralph Richardson's performance. Richardson, who died before the movie's release, is truly the movie's centerpiece. When he's on the screen, there's a snap,a sparkle and an electricity, in every scene he is in. The scene where he meets his grandson for the first time, is mind blowingly emotional, particularly with the music's build up. Brilliant!!

He had lost his son (his heir) and his daughter in law 20 years before, and when he was old and in the last days of his life his lost grandson and heir comes back home. Sir Ralph Richardson looks like the happiest man in te world and the music is just astonishing and fits perfectly with this haunting moment. This always makes me cry.
