They’re not selling your items they’re PROMOTING YOUR ITEMS. They’re doing the same thing you did by yourself. It depends I guess on what you’re selling..

EBAY is such a crap site. What you buy arrives so slow its crazy. Advertising gets just idiots to enquire about your vehicle. They don't even have a working payments credit card page. text misaligned and no text goes in the surname box. To contact is just hell. you leave paying and you get automated nasty reminders. The service is TURD.

The problem with promoted listings is Casini takes into consideration conversion rate while showing your listings. Sponsored ads get more clicks but that doesn't always translate to conversions, when that happens your conversion rate decreases and hurts how Cassini shows listings. In summary, promoted listings won't make a bad item sell but it will make a good item sell quicker, most people try and use promoted listings on their worst items and it ends up killing their conversion rate.

If you have something thsts sought after then promoting will benefit slightly.

Ebay makes turning off auto list so difficult that I am afraid to list a bunch of stuff because I do not want to get hit with all the fees. Ebay has a lot of work to do to improve their user interface so more people will feel more confident selling more items.

Do you buy shipping labels through eBay? If so, if you are have a registered business, you may wish to open up an account with USPS, FedEx, UPS, and/or Canada Post (only if in Canada). You will earn increased discounts the more you spend on shipping through those individual shippers which will be greater discounts than what eBay offers over time.

i Do Promotions on every listing. I do however go with what % I think is appropriate. When I research the item and there isn't many listings available on it, I use the 2-3%.

I know this video is a couple years old. But I love promoted listings. I would say 75 to 80% of my sales are from promoted listings. I usually do anywhere from 3% to 4%. And what’s great is when I do a google search I see my items. It’s exciting.

Promoted listings are great if you are the only one using them. But when everyone is using them then we are all back to square 1, and the only winner is ebay.

Doesn’t promoting also drive traffic to your page and thus lead to more sales by ppl buying items that you haven’t promoted? You’re so hot btw…

People do not go to ebay much to buy on availability in my case (mixed IT products), they go, search and filter out by price. I list use good images set it and let it run gtc. I dont use ANY other promotion, image expansion or even that second title line whatsoever because after >20yrs selling on eBAY, IT DOESNT WORK! and my fees are still ridiculously higher than expected. I may reduce price by a pound per week. ave selling price approx. 300 pounds. eBay is very time consuming if like me every item is a one off compared to inventory. As such ive had enough. Platform is getting better but its so poorly organised simple things take ages because of poor website planning. Try send a customer an invoice when they request one from messaging. lol what a mess.

Ebay need your business, as such every so ofen in a month sales go crazy, why? because they promote your items in places other than normal to give unaware buyers visuals into your items. They do NOT include that activity or wizardry in their promotions else promotions would work. and they dont.

I'm so mad about the promoted listing scam. As I was doing inventory maintenance I discovered a promoted listing I had not taken down. Suggested ad rate was 5.7% and I had done mine as a test at 7.5%. ( it was a test I forgot about). I have had no sales. I searched the item and even with the extra I paid I was below the 10th spot on the page. I'm glad one didn't sell.

THIS IS WHY YOU NO LONGER SEE THE ACTUAL DOLLAR COST WHEN YOU PROMOT.  THE COST JUST WENT UP BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, ok, uh huh. I'm trying to find out how much extra you pay ebay with promoted listings. I know much i have w/o those listings and i think its kind of high. dont want to give ebay all my profit.

How was this a "risk"???? eBay is promoting your listings...I don't understand the risk? Shouldn't it be a good thing by default, and the only downside is paying the fee? Totally confused by this video. You killed your store by eBay promoting your listings? lol what?

Ebay just added the minimum to 2% and if you don't update it will just stop being promoted. Well thank you ebay from your greed I will not have to lift a finger to cancel promoted listings :)

I started at 1% last yr but this yr I bumped it to 3%. Bulk edited my store and set every item to 3% and saw a jump in sales

I’ve never used promoted listings but when my item doesn’t sell and it gets relisted it gets twice as many views and usually sells the second time it’s listed. What causes that? Seems like eBay try’s to sell it more the second time. ??

With the ongoing raise in eBay fees, I set my PF rate at 1-2%. Do I see anything from it? Not really. I do better on large volumes of product listing on FB. Especially things under $25. I've got more to say, but I'm working on dinner today-- I'll get back to you later today.

Those people may be worried about spending money, and I assume there is quite a few of those people, one being myself. The stimulus checks are over, everyones in saving mode not spending mode

I'm finding out that promoted listings can kill your ranking in search because the algorithm looks at the number of impressions and the number of clicks and purchases and when you do promoted listings it jacks your impressions way up and drops your sale through rate down which makes the algorithm think your item isn't popular and it buries your listings or even hides them entirely

Thats very interesting bc if you promoted all items in store to x% wouldn’t any sales you made be charged that ad fee? I guess are you trying to imply that buyers can still find your item with organic search?
