Nobuyo Ōyama as Monokuma (Dangaronpa 1 PSP Limited Edition Extras)

She was renowned for acting Doraemon in 1979–2005, so I honestly can't believe Monokuma sounded like Doraemon. Anyway, it's still depressing that she passed away last September. Rest in peace. I hope she is doing well with Doraemon in the heaven...

I've never heard the Japanese voice before and with her voice getting high pitched in places, Brian Beacock did a great take on the character. Much better than the Funimation dubs.

What's sadder is that she is one of the few voice actors to survive for more than several decades, I mean look at Goku's voice actor Masako Nozawa, she was born in 1936 while Oyama was born in 1933, making Nobuyo Oyama one of the oldest voice actors in anime, because she was born 3 years prior to her, until she died to an illness. R.I.P., you may not be with us anymore, but you won't be forgotten. 😔🙏
