None of this stuff actually works with movement in real, resistive, live sparring and randori. Haven't seen amyine come into judo and beat judoka with this stuff, nor bjj either. There was a reason Kano beat all the Jiu jitsu practitioners he fought at the police academy in Tokyo way back when he invented judo.

6 years old when I started. 22 now. I've also learned systema, Judo (same shit pretty much) and Muay Thai as my main arts. I've used it for good... For evil... I was licensed to teach in 2019 by the ASFA. Dont go down this road unless you wanna be seen as a monster and enjoy it.

I'm a black belt in judo and BJJ but people highly underestimate traditional jujutsu. It doesn't receive the credit it deserves. I love how the takedowns does not rely heavily on the gi. ossss. Thank you for this post sensei.

Excellent to see a good quality JapJJ video compared to all the Fluffy Krav M. B.S. that you see on line. Whats the difference between real JapJJ and Krav B.S.??? Krav is a "Business Model" full of self promotion to make money. Jap JJ attracts those people who desire and practice a muli-faceted centuries old martial art with respect and humility. Krav people bluster how tough they are, JJ people just smile and wait for your attack!

it’s not handshake fool, it’s wrist or other grab also punch and kick defense , attacks or assaults often begin with some grab, or strike or kick — why be so disrespectful or a very good martial art that is self defense oriented and I’m sure has sparring and at green belt level and up likely have contact sparring, most karate/taekwondo/judo/jujitsu/jujutsu, even aikido have sparring with sensible levels of contact, only idiots beat each other up unless they’re getting paid , and mma fighters get paid but mostly end up crippled up making the promotors rich, be smart, have a career and do martial arts for personal development, you don’t have to be a professional fighter to have good self defense and fitness

Personally I feel like traditional jujitsu is way better for self defence than bjj.

Great video. Shows the difference between sport juijitsu and combat Jujitsu. I have been training in combat JJ for a while, and I am no where near this level. I doubt I ever will get to this level, but I love the training. So il keep at it.
