When I was in Middle School, we had those classic clocks. At the top of every hour those clocks would buzz at 0:23 but a little louder and after about a minute it would click like this one did at 1:24.

normally these clocks run at 24 V, i only fed it 16, and it was DC not AC, the hum won't be loud because of that. :D

How did you wire this up without needing a Simplex controller?

Hello yes i have a old Lathem SS15RFA clock it has 4 wires on back. Green White Black and Red. The motor is a 110 vac/ 60 Hz I'm trying to hook up to a 110 outlet. I wired the red and white together for power and green and black for ground side . The clock worked however minute hand went around and then second hand finally hourly hand. This behavior continued I'm thinking it was trying to sink to a master clock . Can someone help me wire this for a standard working clock?

Hello, do you have a discord or something I can I message you on with questions? I have a 1930's International Time Recording Co clock with three short wires on the back. I don't really know how to explain it, but if I could show you a picture it would be much easier. Lol maybe I should stick with mechanical clocks and regular electric clocks! Thanks for your time.

That is pretty neat. Nowadays though, Simplex doesn't do much time products anymore; they mostly just focus on fire alarms.
