Sanjeev Sanyal brilliantly explains the origins of the word 'Hindu'

Sindhu is real name of Hindu, If you read some more books You will find seven rivers in past near Haryana punjab other part in pakistan was named on rivers was Singhu.

So the word Hindu has a foreign origin even it is drawn from the word Sindhu

Hapta Hindu is mentioned in Vendidad as the last country or place our of 16 countries. The first country that is mentioned in Vendidad is Airanyo Viego.

So we are using Name given by foreigners to us ,what a shame

the shloka गङ्गे च यमुने चैव गोदावरि सरस्वति ।
नर्मदे सिन्धु कावेरि जलेऽस्मिन् संनिधिं कुरु ॥

narmade sindhu kāveri jale’smin saṃnidhiṃ kuru ..
is from the hymn, Ahnika Sutravali (verse 106)

and, so what sanjeev says ins one explanation for the sapta sindu (rivers); But this shloka also exists from quite some time back...this is also an auspicious hymn recited by millions of people daily , for a very long time.
