The DEFINITIVE Halo CE Weapons Tier List

So I have stopped playing halo by halo 4 campaign but I have to ask, and some people will throw flak at me for even suggesting this weapon, but the Plasma Carbine (which in my opinion looks more like a rifle than the rifle) has a manual cooling vent, yet the plasma rifle does not, I just thought that was weird.
Though my favorite and this will be heretical for some, the spike rifle from Halo reach, I like the look and I enjoy the functionality of it.

Also I think its a real damn shame the Assault rifle isn't that popular to use, but I think to give it additional merit is to give it the CE's mag.

I think you were way too harsh on the needler. Out of the hundreds of legendary runs I've done of the past 2 decades playing this game (yes I am a bit obsessed with CE, heck I only just finished the fight last year in the MCC, and I played halo 2 at least 7 years after it came out) never did I use the Assault rifle more than the needler in any run. I agree with the advantages you listed of the Assault rifle, but when actually using it in practice its just woefully inefficient. The needler on the other hand, while technically way less ammo efficient, and forgoing melee advantage, if used skillfully landing combines whenever used (which honestly if playing on legendary you most likely are able to do well enough), ends up being far more valuable than the Assault rifle itself. The needler also comes great to match up set ups of grenades whenever squads spawn or land, being able to shoot 7 to 14 needles at the right spot and having enough time to chuck a grenade or two (plasma or frag) with enough time for them to land at the same time and clear entire landing squads on the transport ships for example. In my view, I'd lower the Assault rifle down to B tier and the needler bump up to B as well, with the needler ahead of the AR. Neither of them are better than weapons on A or S. I would never compare the needler to the pistol, but I also wouldn't compare the assault rifle to the pistol.

Perhaps here we are showing our biases on the weapons we gravitate towards, you call the needler your favorite weapon, but it seems you struggle to rely on it vs the Assault rifle according to this list.

I always thought the Kinetic weapons were hitscan, wheras plasma weapons were projectile.

ngl I never knew covenant weapons were good in Halo 1. I always thought that the only time they were good was up against sentinels

I genuinely can't understand the needlers multiplayer ranking. It's the one weapon I've never lost a fight while using. Especially against multiple players indoors. Hit one with a supercombine and all of them lose their minds.

CE shotgun is so busted that I managed to destroy a Wraith with it on Legendary. When that happened, I giggled yet were not very surprised.

The Plasma grenade has damage over time effect, because it causes cancer when regularly used.

Not gonna lie, I hate the plasma pistol.

Leave it to Vengeful Vadam to not only consider multiplayer but ALSO the single player campaign! As someone who cares far more about the single player, I'm really happy to see this :)

Man, you did the campaign AR dirty. Talk about the pistol and shotty against banshees, but not the AR? The AR drops them like flies. And how did you not mention the overpenetration for the AR?! That's one of the best things about the gun, you line up a bunch of targets and shoot through all of them. That's why the damage nerf against the flood doesn't matter that much until they start using guns: the melee forms line up nicely to overpen.

Whoever controls the plasma pistol... Control's the fate of the universe

As someone who had about 4-5K hours in this game back in the day, the beauty of Halo CE is every weapon can be A or S rank if you know exactly how to use the weapon and exactly what situation the weapon can be used.

The Magnum deals bonus damage to certain flood forms!? Man I always SWORE when I was a little kid that the Magnum felt "better" against the flood but I never knew why....

Damn straight the shotgun is God Tier. Once I pick it up, I never, ever drop it. The only question then is, which sidearm do I want to use, since that's what every other weapon becomes next to it.

i was coming to love the needler in Halo 2, combined with the covenant carbine, it was my main weapon against the Brutes. Firing so much needles into the Brutes to get them explodet was very effective. I was feeling like to put the hole available bullets from other weapons against one Brute to kill them, the needler was my weapon of choice - i was surprised by myself to use this weapon so much in this game 🤣🏹

Out of curiosity, from how you move I assume you are playing with a controller? Would the multiplayer list be different for mouse/keyboard? Also was the pistol changed much from the original xbox version where it had 100% accuracy if you press the trigger between every shot instead of holding it down etc?

Good video, but I do kinda feel like you are being a bit hard on both the power weapons. The sniper isnt very useful like you said in the later half of the game, basically only in two betrayals, but it does pretty much trivialize the first half.

Also the rocket launcher doesnt compete with grenades (yeah I know thats not technically what you said), you get to use both at the same time. Its basically a "skip this pack" button. Unlike the grenades, it travels much faster while being slow enough that you can spend most of the travel time behind cover, it detonates on impact instead of the timers on the grenades making it much easier to use, and it travels in a straight line forever so no standing out in the open taking shots to the face while trying to predict the arc the nade throw will take.

And yeah you might have an elite left standing, but you now either pick a fight with an elite with low shields and 0 support, or you just throw in a grenade before the rocket and double explosion will make sure theres nothing left to mop up. Idk im not saying you are wrong, I just personally (not that it matters) would place both of these weapons 1 rank higher. Theres fairly few times the game gives you one of these where its not worth dropping another weapon over it, and while they arent THE best ALL of the time they do make some of the trickiest encounters of the game alooot easier. At least if you play normally without speedrun skips that removes entire chunks of each level.

I particularly love the plasma rifle. It feels like an actual rifle with RANGE as opposed to the more SMG-like plasma rifles in the later games.

I think what makes people overvalue the Pistol is that it can get away with certain things on lower difficulties, like mag dumping an elite up close which is something higher difficulties will punish you for. It’s also that people try to apply the “utility weapon” philosophy in other Halo games to CE’s Pistol, and people don’t really go further with the sandbox than that. Which makes people overlook what the sandbox truly has to offer, and makes the game unnecessarily more difficult. When I started using both the Plasma Pistol and the Shotgun regularly, I found that I’ve had an easier time with the game and was able to take on legendary properly. The Pistol is a weapon that needs support in order to be similarly as powerful as the Plasma Pistol and the Shotgun, said guns that don’t need support to rule the game with an iron fist.
