Camila finally talks to Luz | For The Future | ((TOH SPOILERS))

Luz's greatest wish ending up being wanting to be understood hit me SO hard. I know Dana has been ambiguous about what specific form of neurodiversity Luz is, but as someone who has not one, but two different neurodiverse variants stacked on top of each other... That moment SPOKE to me.

And can I also say that I just LOVE with my whole heart how Camila actually APOLOGIZED to Luz for misunderstanding her and pushing her to change who she is out of a desire to protect her? As someone whose been misunderstood her whole life, whose been pushed, and shoved, and forced to try to change who she is as a person... Having an adult, an authority figure, a parent admit that they made mistakes and that they were in the WRONG to do that and earnestly apologize... What neurodiverse person doesn't dream of that?

All this started when Luz moved out.

This, alongside the lumity scenes, were my favorite parts of For the Future.

All luz ever wanted was to be understood by her mom fully in the series

Well, I’ll let you know that I’m going to fix The Owl House when I work at Disney. We’ll be making Season 2 specials that takes place before the events of Hollow Mind, we’ll be making a better and full Season 3 that takes place in the Human Realm, and we’ll be making Season 4 that takes place back in the Demon Realm where the Boiling Isles was taken over by the Collector. In one of the episodes after encounter Kikimora A.K.A the Red Goblin, Luz became frustrated that she messed up again, she runs away from Camila and her friends, making them worried. Luz even snapped at Amity to go away and to leave her alone due to her being so traumatized. Camila knows that she needs to reason with Luz once she finds her. And that’s what she’s going to do after she found her. Hopefully her reasons will help Luz feel a little bit better. And unknowingly to them, Amity was hearing everything after she came to where Luz was at to apologize to her.

Say what you want about Season 3, but this scene was absolutely beautiful. I always get chills when Luz's palisman starts glowing and hatching.

I feel like this is a scene that so many people can relate to.

This scene, god damn. I almost shedded a tear.

I’m a bit late on this but I now think that Luz should of apologized to Camila for making her feel like she pushed her away and choosing to stay in the demon realm while she got some good things out of it, it was definitely a form of escapism to avoid the difficulties of real life and avoid difficult feelings and responsibilities

The Owl House is definitely one of the best Disney animated shows of all time. I love its themes of found family, friendship, neurodivergence and LGBT.

I love when Camila brought up her nerd obsession. The audience knows she buried it down, but apparently Luz had never related to her mom in that specific way. Camila had been trying all her life to be the rock and a role model for her kid to follow, and in ways she didn't even intend, Luz followed her.

In a series full of relatable moments, this honestly hit home the hardest for me.

I know what it's like to have a wild and vivid imagination like Luz. And I also know what it's like for other people to see that as a hindrance rather than a potential gift-including my own parents.

I know the feeling of thinking people don't understand you, and needing someone to tell you that you're not a broken person.

Having people accept you is hard but accepting yourself is harder. But than you shouldn’t care what others think. Calling you names like freak, weirdo, nerd and offensive names based off race or religion. But those kinds of people are small minded they make cavemen seem more open minded.

as much as I love this scene I just figured out something very sad about luz, Camila said that she had a hard time growing up and was afraid luz would too, well luz did have a hard time growing up, and Camila saying that reveals something very heartbreaking, luz never told Camila that she was being bullied and picked on for being weird, and I know the reason for why luz didn't tell her, it's because Manny died, which actually makes a ton of sense when you think about it, Camila was a single mother raising luz after her husband died, so luz's logic for lying to her about how bad things used to be can be summed up as you had enough to worry about after dad died mama, the LAST THING you needed was to find out your daughter was being bullied and made fun of for her weirdness, if you ask me that is just so sad that luz felt that way enough to lie to Camila about being bullied by everyone in Gravesfield, and before anybody says anything yes I'm aware that the guidance counselor in Camila's nightmare in thanks to them said Camila was also bullied in school but don't bring it up to me please cause my point about luz still stands and I don't wanna hear it.

Luz C'MON! Messing up is really a part of living! Dont say that YOU allways are a jerk or, idk how you will say IT, its a part of the living, dont cry, you will make your wish real.

Since Disney ordered 2 new seasons of Phineas and Ferb, maybe someday Disney will order some new seasons of The Owl House.

First off, it's nice to know that Camilla didn't want to send Luz to that camp COMPLETELY by choice. Sure, a part of her DID think that her daughter need to learn some restraint. But as we saw in her dreams, Camilla was practically BULLIED into the whole thing by the principal; especially when they tore open old wounds by mentioning her own bullying experiences.

After that and THIS moment, I officially took back EVERY instance I thought of Camilla as a bad mother.

Secondly, Luz's wish is sort of like my own; to be loved and respected as I am, instead of being mocked or hated for my traits

This was a bit of a spoiler for me, but I LOVE how Camila apologizes for trying to make Luz fit in. I never liked how she acted in the first episode. This way more than made up for it!

The Astral Oath always makes me tear up a little, especially with the little musical piece that sounds like the Star Trek theme (Or, I guess Cosmic Frontier).

I’m in same boat as Luz as well I too have ADHD but may have struggled in past but I’m proud of my disability and don’t worry what people think any more now that I’m a adult

The Astral Oath is a promise made between Captain Avery and his family to love and protect each other just as they are, through supernovas and solar winds.

this scene is so fucking beautiful and important to me.

This show literally means so much to me. Camila is the best mom. I cried the first time i saw this. It also must be nice to be accepted as you are. The few friends i have remind me of Eda n King bc they become your family. Through choice, not blood ♡♡ i cannot accept this show is over 🥲

I love the owl house but does anyone think this is giving aphmau vibes lol

I an suprised we're not talking about the "fancy Hospital" part. That anger...we all knew Luz lost her father. Perhaps it was in the line of duty as a fireman, perhaps it was some terminal condition like cancer. We all knew that tragety. But that anger to the hospital really makes it more tragic. Was there nothing the hospital could do? Or was there medical malpractice, causing the death needlessly? Or maybe they just couldn't afford it after moving. This adds a whole other layer to Camila. No wonder she's both so distant yet overprotecive. She blames herself in part for her husband's death.

I'm not caught up on TOH so someone tell me- when Camila started tearing up while she was mentioning the move to Gravesfield, was that because it was also what caused the death of her husband?

“The only thing I’ve ever really wanted was to be understood” this actually brings tears to my eyes just typing this out because for a very long time and still today it’s hard to feel understood by others who aren’t like you and I know that nobody is the same but, but still it feels hard trying To fit into a society that at times where you both don’t understand stand each other
I know I’m ranting I’m sorry it’s just can get pretty hard and what Luz said hit me pretty hard

Gotta say, the new poster with the tagline "Nothing Lasts Forever", combined with the final episode's title of "Watching and Dreaming" has got me worried. If they decide to end this show with the "it was all a dream" scenario, I'm gonna be very disappointed.

I love how Camila love Luz no matter what and took responsibility and admit her biggest mistake was trying to change Luz into something she wasn’t. I understand she just didn’t want her daughter to be bullied like she was at her age, but then realize changing Luz into something she wasn’t would make Luz unhappy. That shows how much of a good mother Camila is.

While I do adore the lumity scenes in this episode, this scene happens to be my favorite part because camila finally understands why her daughter doesn't want to return home and that they've gotten so much closer within the last few months. I originally didn't like camila all that much when she first appeared but with time and season 3, I've started to like her more and understand what Luz and her friends have been up again. I just hope whatever the final episode gives us camila will accept whatever choice her daughter makes.
