Earliest manuscript telling Aristotle's tales: 1 THOUSAND 400 years after his death. Christ: 140 years just a few generations. Ponder THAT.

Unfortunately in an often unjust world, character sometimes is instead, rather a hinderance. Life is complex.

Sold State Metaphysics

O Sacrament most Holy,
O Sacrament Divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving,
Be every moment Thine!

What are the 10 categories in metaphysics?

These ten categories are substance, quantity, quality, relation, place, time, situation, condition, action, and passion.

Yeah, this is not a course on Aristotle himself or his ideas. This is a course on Aristotle as a hand puppet of Thomas Aquinas. Larry P. Amn is not a philosopher. He is a neoconservative, historian, college president and christian apologist. This video series is disingenuous as it is using Aristotle to promote a religious and political agenda which Aristotle was completely ignorant of by a man who is not a professional philosopher. Unlike Aristotle (as argued against in his Metaphysics) Amn is a dogmatist. Avoid.

He already fails to understand:

He says in any just situation!

Very naive to state in any just situation for life itself is unjust and its existence itself is unjust!

Spoken like someone that sits behind books in a university and has not experienced life!

No indeed has not experienced one jot or one tittle!

He also States that Aristotle States that every action is in some sense a desire for good!

Wrong!

A higher authority name Jesus Christ!

Stated: none are good no not even one.

Likewise our actions can only be a mard poor attempt at so-called good!

Well, I love the idealism here, but it also makes me understand why Machiavelli so scandalized people in his time.
I'll just throw this out here and see if anyone is silly enough to consider it.
From to Aristotle to Freud and Jung, everyone was looking at morality as an external, fixed thing, but we have strong moral instincts, something no one pre-Darwin could really have appreciated. The idea is even resisted because Western Religion has always said that humans have no instincts... because it would mean that we are animals instead of divine. As a biologist I consider morality to be the union of moral instinct and moral teaching. That would mean that the reason we pursue good has a biological component that comes from evolution. Morality is how we decide right from wrong. According to a biologist then, right serves survival. It doesn't much change what Aristotle taught, but it does change the motivation. If you add in biological survival and moral instinct to your considerations of philosophy, it will open doors of understanding. You will see it in yourself and others. Then, if you do the same thing to your survival instinct, name it and recognize it, it will open another whole vista of understanding.
Just a thought...

I'm confused. Didn't the Pentateuch come before Aristotle? And isn't the point of the Bible to tell us how to live, how to become good? Why is a book by a pagan, no matter how well written, called the "first book written on how best to live" or "the best book ever written" when we have the Bible? This is an interesting lecture, but seems to be based on a wrong assumption.

He says that a case of insanity would be to kill because loves it. This however doesn’t make the point he wanted to make, because in loving to kill he is aiming at that very good! The most extreme insanity and therefore most rare and to the point is to kill while not aiming at any good in so doing, but simply doing it because the killer didn’t want to do it, that is, a contradiction.

Definition of good/bad
Breakdown to
A measurement of positive/negative waves from our mind.
The waves and vibrations don't lie.
The mind/body can.
Until we can measure that we will never truly understand the complexity of the truth of what's good/bad.
Light instruments can measure truth.

Wondering when this was filmed. Because everyone is writing with pen and paper! Actually taking notes, when "notes" meant written on paper with a pen. Further, everyone has a glass of water. Aha! No bottles of spring water. Question: Are computers not allowed at Hillsdale? Or laptops? Is bottled water by spring water companies not allowed at Hillsdale? I'm curious about the 1970s style note-taking. That's when I was in university - I had notebooks full of notes.
