Poor anne and luz😢
ОтветитьDr. Doofenshmirtz: Wow, if i had a nickel for every time that the main protagonist in a Disney Channel animated series died trying to save her friends & loved ones, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice?! 😕
Ответитьis someone really gonna make anne's sacrifice but with don't worry i think it missed me playing in the background?

ОтветитьLuz’s death is infinitely better than Anne’s fake out nothing death. Anne just says a cringe ass line despite the fact she’s going to die and then disappears and the very next scene she technically gets brought back by a god/deus ex machina that contributes nothing to the story other than needless complications. And she’s placed right back when she died so practically nothing happens. Don’t tell me otherwise that this wasn’t them grasping for any sort of solution after writing themselves in a corner.
Meanwhile. Luz puts herself in between Belos and the Collector to protect him from a horrible mistake but telling them that he did the right thing by trying to show kindness and forgiveness. She’s initially in denial over the spell not hitting her. And then she sees it. She sees the spell expand across her entire body and consume her. All while King and Eda are watching the whole thing unfold. And as her essence is scattered, we see the damage that Belos is causing and the despair that washes over everyone as they see Luz’s light scatter across the boiling isles. Eda and King are enraged. Time is allowed to pass as the moment seeps in for the characters including Camila who is crying despite being an inanimate puppet. The Collector is at a loss for words and starts to understand the concept of death and how much it hurts to lose someone you love and apologizes for everything not wanting for things to end like this. But Luz comes back in probably the most refreshing final form design ever conceived. And then they beat Belos’ ass. Also the music yeah that might be a big part as well in terms of cooking up this masterful scene. The singular thing that takes me out of it is “she’s really gone” that was a bad line read I’m not even gonna lie… and that’s my only nitpick with this scene.
Camila: Luz will be ok
The being ok in question:
I think both sacrifices are sad given the fact they have different circumstances.
Anne’s sacrifice was literally the only option she has left to defeat the Core (the classic “dying for the greater good”), while she was in her Calamity form at max power, she accepted her death with dignity and no regrets , and it’s left ambiguous whether she’s really brought back from the dead (The Guardian had a very vague choice of words) so it’s up to interpretation.
Luz’s sacrifice was literally an impulsive decision to save just one life, in this case a literal godlike child, who not even about 5 minutes ago he was an antagonist (not a villain, careful with the difference) to her, when she realized she was about to kick the bucket, it’s pretty clear she was afraid to die, and she died apologizing to both Eda and King for splitting up again, and regretted that her last words weren’t “Thank you for everything you did for me”. Also, her “death” is the catalyst for her transformation into a demonic, “Half-Human, Half-Titan” version of herself. And finally it’s 100% confirmed that she did resurrect.
Another difference is about their role:
Anne is literally a “Chosen One”, she was chosen by a prophecy, her Blue Calamity Stone of The Heart, and finally by the Guardian of the Multiverse to be their next successor (and even when she rejected their offer, because she is just a kid and would rather live the rest of her life as an average human, the Guardian still left the spot open for her, until she passes away of natural death)
Luz, on the other hand, is not a “Chosen One”, in fact she’s quite the opposite. She’s just an average neurodivergent, queer 14 years old kid. She doesn’t do things because a “prophecy told her so”, but because SHE chooses to make decisions and actions accordingly. SHE chooses to leave a positive mark on her wake to those around her (and she is even not above about questioning her own actions). Indeed, in the finale she didn’t gain Titan powers because she’s special, but simply because she was kind to a literal godlike figure’s child and most importantly, because she chooses to take them to save her friends and stop Belos for good.
Damn, it’s hard deciding which one is more sadder as both just hit you right in the heart

ОтветитьIm more sad at Luz’s Death
ОтветитьIt's sad to see Luz go through the same sacrifice play in her series finale that Anne did in hers.
