how could I adjust the pattern for a smaller size, like a size 5 womens?
ОтветитьGreat pattern! I have a question. How is ssk different than k2tog?
ОтветитьAfter doing the heel turn and before picking up stitches along the side of the heel gap, I have 14 stitches on one needle (working with 3 double pointed needles) I end up with 26 stitches before reaching the ribs on needle 1 making 26 stitches on one needle. After working across the 24 stitches for the rib and picking up the next 12 stitches on the side, I end up with 52!!! stitches on needles 2 and 3. What am I doing wrong? The heel turn looks good but I just have too many stitches. Thanks for any help. (I am watching the video but it doesn't seem to help with this problem)
ОтветитьI wear a size 8.5 wide in women's shoes, do you know how many cast on stitches I'd use? or would I be be better off just measuring my calf/foot and multiplying by the st/inch of the yarn I am using? Thank you!
ОтветитьThks for this video How many stitches would I need for kids /7/9 year olds hope u can help Thks I nadvanc
ОтветитьAre these good to wear in shoes?
ОтветитьWorking these on DPNs and my first pair of socks. AND I’m a beginner knitter. So I’m having to work with the pattern and the video trying to convert the pattern to a DPN pattern but so far so good. Just finished the heel turn and PU so I think the next part should be pretty easy
Ответитьty! finally found one
ОтветитьExcellent Tutorial! Simply the Best!!❤❤❤
ОтветитьMy mistake, was able to sort it out.
ОтветитьWhy do I end up with only 1 stitch on the last row when you end with 2 on the heel turn? I've redone it several times and still end up with only 1 stitch on the last row.
ОтветитьI tried using worsted weight for a pattern that called for fingering weight. In the end, it turned out like a Christmas stocking
Pattern: vanilla socks
finished my first sock with this pattern! i modified it a little so that the ribbing only stays on the leg and the foot is just stockinette because i dont really like the feel of ribbing but my first sock fits so well and its so warm and cozy!!
ОтветитьWhat if I want to knit a larger pair how do I do that
ОтветитьI did it! I made a sock! ❤️❤️ now to make the second one 😅
Thank you for such a great tutorial!
Knit my first ever pair of socks thanks to this video- thank you so much for this tutorial! Very simply explained and very pretty results :)
ОтветитьHi! I’d like to make these in a men’s size 10-11, do you have any recommendations on how much to increase the cast on? When I make things for myself I kind of wing it and measure as I go, but making something like this for someone else is a bit daunting. Also, how long does the foot part of the sock end up being? So sorry for all the questions! Thank you!
ОтветитьI know this is an old video so you might not see this comment but THANK YOU SO MUCH. I started a sock and could not, for the life of me, understand what the heck the heel flap was for or what it did. Silly I know, but I was like wait what is this part for? How do I know how long to make it? You are the first in MANY videos to actually explain and show on a finished sock where the heel flap was, so thank you!
ОтветитьI know this is an old video however I want to say thank you SO MUCH!! I am autistic and live in a cold climate, so finding socks is a HUGE struggle for me and sensory issues. Thanks to this video I’m finishing up my first handmade sock right now and I’m crying from how soft and wonderful it feels on my foot. I truly cannot explain how thankful I am for this tutorial and will be making so many more socks thanks to it! Much love to you and your amazing work💕💕
ОтветитьThanks I'm going to use your pattern and my nine inch circular needles be very blessed
ОтветитьThankyou so much for getting back to me so fast but I have a question do I use the same number to cast on are should I add more like 64
ОтветитьGood morning I really want to make these socks but I'm going to try to make them on my nine inch circular needles and a size 2 please tell me it will work be blessed
ОтветитьAm I the only one who is having a problem with using circular needles? It seems so tight and hard to reach the stitch to knit/purl.
I’m just in the first row and hope it’s not going to be like this throughout. I think I’m must be doing something wrong 🤔
❤
ОтветитьHow long is your circular needles for magic looping worsted weight socks
Ответитьcan i make this with double pointed needles?
ОтветитьVery good instructions, but wish you had show the Kitchener stitch.
ОтветитьSweet, need to bust through some worsted weight yarn.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing! So helpful.
ОтветитьCan I do this on straight needles
ОтветитьHello! A few questions, you said in the video that you are a size 6.5, I am a size 6 and was wondering how tight your socks are/if I should make mine smaller. And then this may be a very dumb question, but is the yardage required for one sock or both? Thank you so much!
ОтветитьCould you use the same pattern with dk yarn?
ОтветитьThis was very helpful,. Thank you so much,.. I give you Thumbs Up👍👍😊👏😁 Your A Good Teacher...🧶🧦
ОтветитьMade one last night accidentally made it too long for my foot and too short for my mom's. Practicing again but with baby socks. I'm using dk yarn and 2.75mm circulars , I changed the cuff to 10 rows (she doesn't need a long cuff) and I did 9 repeats for the back if the heel (instead of 12) so when I picked up sistches after the heal is decreased I only picked up 9 from both sides..
I decreased till I had 24 on both sides again and then continued in circles for 15 more rows. Then did the toe decrease. I stopped at 14 stitches instead of 8 because they were long enough and decreasing to 8 on each would've been too pointy
Thank you for this, I made matching lounge socks for my daughter and her dad with your pattern and they loved it! I have used your written pattern and notice there was a mistake during the Heel Turn section, there is a missing on Row 3 "P2TOG,P1,turn" at the end there I'm sure! Hope you get a chance to update it.
ОтветитьHow many stitches do I cast on if I am making a size 12 men's sock???
ОтветитьThank you for this!! I always thought the whole heel flap thing was way too complicated but you make it look quite manageable. I LOVE that you have the instructions on your blog because-- not everyone is going to follow through with a sock project and most videos have you pay for a pattern. To me it's just more discouraging because you 'committed' by buying the pattern and then if you get lost and give up, you just feel so bad. I'll be watching this a few more times :)
ОтветитьIf I cast on 64 sts , how many sts do I need to do the 2x 2 rib on top of foot? You had 24 on your demonstration . Nice video. Thank you.
ОтветитьThanks so much for the great video and printed instructions! Much appreciated!
ОтветитьIs it normal or not?😅 why all of my yarns is not that stretchy as yours, even the ribbing part
ОтветитьSo, no one in my family has little feet. Are there any instructions available for those who don’t have Barbie feet? 48 cast ons are nowhere near enough for a womens size 10. Thanks.
ОтветитьWhat’s 3.5 mm?
ОтветитьThank you so much for this tutorial! Definitely going to try 😊
ОтветитьThis is helpful. Thank you. I knit with thrifted or gifted yarn and wanted to use worsted weight house socks. Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьThanks for sharing! This is just what I needed being a newbie to knitting I only have a few needles and skeins of yarn but with your tutorial I’m sure I am able to knit my first pair of socks using worsted weight and not sock yarn 🤗
ОтветитьNext time i watch this video im going to try it, you make it seem so easy
ОтветитьI do dk weight socks and cast on 48st. Is your Worsted weight close to a dk weight ?
Ответить
