Show us how todo it with a harbor freight gun and a 20 gallon air compressor. I have a graco 490 I have dedicated to laquer and sealer.never ran paint through the pump.and a fine finish 310 tip.that works great too
ОтветитьI noticed he sprayed over the hardware...??
ОтветитьClearly they don't understand the difference between an air compressor and a turbine. They also don't understand that every product needs to be measured with a viscosity cup and adjusted as needed. Titan provides viscosity guidance for each category of finish (there's probably a table in the turbine instructions). Never eye ball how much you need to thin a product. Run the viscosity test with your viscosity cup and adjust the viscosity as needed. Any professional painter will know this.
ОтветитьVery nic work sire 👍👍👍 i am indian
ОтветитьWhat is this stupid reading the Safty data sheet? A respirator is probably on the list ? So unprofessional
ОтветитьNo respirator?
Its now in your lungs
Can I use a plastic HVLP sprayer like my HomeRite sprayer that I use for paint, or will the lacquer eat the plastic?
ОтветитьSounds restricted.
ОтветитьWhat about the smell and venting if I did it indoors in the basement? How flammable is this?
ОтветитьWould be great if you just showed a hobby or weekend warrior version. FYI, Thinned Brush on lacquer works great in an HVLP system, no matter what Mr. Tattoo says. Brah.
ОтветитьThank you, l love your guidance
Ответить"It depends on your setup" sooo maybe describe that
Ответитьyou've coddle remove that white sticker before the spray . SHAKING MY HEAD
ОтветитьHow to clean the spray gun and clean a plastic cup?
Ответитьoh its nice ideas and how to Learn how to use that spray gun
ОтветитьThanks for a great insight. I really learned a lot in 10 minutes.
ОтветитьWe never clean our locker gun at work I coil up the hose and stick the gun in a bucket of lacquer thinner spray it off with an air compressor you are ready to use it again
ОтветитьDon't need to sand lacquer....it melts/chemically bond to each layer make one big layer no matter how many coats applied...it's not like paint or clear coats....don't even need an expensive gun system to apply lacquer....cheapy box store sprayers work fine also...it's lacquer, a monkey can do it...
ОтветитьGod I miss these microjig intros.
ОтветитьYou don’t remove the drawers from the body ?
ОтветитьThat was quite possibly the worst example of how to properly transfer product from the manufacturer's container to a spray gun can. So much waste. If anyone hires these guys and the price seems high you might want to challenge based on how much they apparently waste as a matter of course.
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьSpraying lacquer is all fun and games until you run into; blushing, fish eye, solvent pop and orange peel, just to name a few.
ОтветитьLads, You left the price sticker on the front draw?
ОтветитьSo wood you don’t have to sand or what?
ОтветитьI have a faux bamboo set from the 70s with original finish. It's smooth like a countertop. I've painted furniture but never lacquer. I want to do the blue lacquer with a glassy high gloss shine. Do I need to lightly sand, prime? Does lacquer need any prep like paint? This is a very smooth piece. Like laminate almost. Sorry for all the questions. Can't seem to find anyone who knows.
ОтветитьSo do you not have to spray sealer before lacquer?
ОтветитьDo you need to clean the gun in between coats or can you just leave it until all the coats are applied ??
ОтветитьGreat video I’m trying to start doing that the spray cans are getting expensive thanks love your video’s always informative thanks again
ОтветитьYour boy looks like John Cena 😂
ОтветитьWill this gun fit American turbine system? Looks like the same fitting on bottom.thanks
ОтветитьSteven i do like ur videos but u have been duped by them i see. No professional painter takes these guys serious, they are a big hit to diyer's that dont know any better but that is about it. There is so many things they do wrong its not even funny, and we arent talking about well this painter does it this way or that painter does it that way. No we are talking just straight up wrong. I have even seen videos of painters fixing stuff they painted, home owners were pissed.
ОтветитьMan what a sick collaboration both you guys 👌👍
ОтветитьAn unspoken benefit of this method is you don't need any kind of mask or respirator at all. It's perfectly ok to breathe in that cloud of laquer.
ОтветитьI didn't Know you were friends with John Cena! :)
ОтветитьI didnt know you were friends with John Cena
ОтветитьSo many legends in this video.
ОтветитьPrecat dull rub from Sherwin is the go to in my shop. I’ve been having some issues running my gravity fed off a 30 gallon oiler. I’m over in Wyoming and wonder if you guys run into problems with chunks? I’m probably going to go grab my pressure pot and capspray 9100 turbine or the Finish Pro ll...I just hate running anything other than ProClassic or Solo through that machine. I have never had these chunks in 25 years of doing this. I empty my gun every time I stop, run LT through the gun, soak the cap and tip in LT while I sand and then refilter before I start spraying. It’s driving me nuts! Always clean it out! The PreCat will dry inside that gun! Good video, always like your stuff. Maybe I got a bad batch...not sure.
ОтветитьNot wearing a respirator while spraying lacquer can give you cerebral palsy like symptoms. Dude is risking his livelihood by being lazy.
Ответитьdidn't think John Cena was a wood worker
ОтветитьI would say there are a couple more helpful TIPS to spraying lacquer that this video has overlooked. First, weather conditions. There are three weather conditions that need to be met when spraying lac, ESPECIALLY outdoors. First, the humidity needs to be less than 90%, the temperature and the dew point need to be at least 5 degrees apart and the temperature cannot be falling over the next 24 hours (falling as in, not rising back up). The finished lacquer pieces "GAS OFF" for hours, even up to several days. It is important that when gassing off, circulation of air continues and no pets or humans are in a closed area with the pieces. To avoid 'blushing' woods, especially dark stained wood, use a Lacquer Retardant. Just a capful in the cup. Strain lacquer before putting it in the cup. On vertical surfaces, spray a 'mist' or 'piss' coat, wait one minute and spray the heavy coat. It will create a matrix for the heavy coat to grab onto, and will prevent sagging and dripping. Remember that lacquer is very temperamental.
ОтветитьNice. The one guy in the green shirt has a bit of a Christopher Walken vibe when he talks, which added 200% more entertainment value to my watching of this great vid
ОтветитьHow long to wait to recoat and how long have you got (approx) before you need to clean the spay gun - esp in between coats?
ОтветитьThere's a little thing called sanding sealer (for clear lacquer topcoat) and undercoater (for colored.) Understandable that that did not get mentioned. These guys aren't, nor have they EVER been, about thoroughness or quality.
ОтветитьIdaho painter,i love them
Ответитьplease use a mask
