would like to see what you have to say to a newbie city. got about 100 hours down now in the game and after 8 test saves i finally build a city.
i already see a lot of mistakes myself but would be interested in hearing what others have to say about it.

What a wonderful job with a lot of love and patience. Thank you for sharing and presenting. Best regards
Ответитьwhich map is this
ОтветитьWatched the video, loaded into my save, and realized the city I thought looked so neat and well built is actually a monstrocity that looked like it was planned and built by crackheads.
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьHello, i don't see iron ore processing plant. how is iron ore process to iron?
ОтветитьVery impressive
ОтветитьFinally someone, who plays soviets like me. 😂
ОтветитьIs there any way to edit default map?
ОтветитьJust need to add one more time that this build is damn near immaculate, I am in awe honestly at how pretty AND functional it all is!! Without tools like move it and TM:PE and things!!!! VERY VERY impressive!!! Seriously thr builder should be very proud of this build!!!
ОтветитьIf cities skylines and workers and resources had a love child. HOT DAMN that would be an unstoppable game!!! <3 take the graphics of C:S more realistic (think heavily modded Cities Skylines quality with LUTS and themes and the SYABILITY and polish and add to that the distribution/industry, Production, and construction features of workers and resources and what an INCREDIBLE game that would be!!! Beautiful map build! Kudos to the creator, makes me want to try again to make a truly beautiful build (it's just so frustrating to me sometimes and I end up going for functional over beauty) great work! That translation with the pedestrian overpass was a work of art!!
Ответитьwow - What a nice layout and great leveling especially the rails.
The conveyor belt layout is also great.
Thank you for showing!
What is happening with season 5
ОтветитьThanks for you review @bballjo!
A few comments…
The farms aren’t overbuilt so much as they are built large enough to also hold the trucks instead of using distribution offices…because crop collection works much faster this way, as the new farms have way more efficient traffic flow than DOs currently. Also, DOs are limited to only 20 fields, which actually requires using more trucks.
Each city is designed to concentrate extra workers into a single train station (or bus stop in some cases). Each industrial complex is designed to be accessible from a single train station. Keeping everything within walking distance reduces reliance on buses, which reduces the possibility of workers not arriving on a regular timeframe.
The crazy amount of rail by the oil refinery was due to capacity problems because I made a HUGE mistake placing the oil loader/unloaded there. I had to rework things to allow other trains to bypass it, which are a mess, since both passengers and freight go through here, and space is quite limited.
Grades for rail are at most 1% I believe everywhere. I may have pushed some passenger slopes to 2%…can’t remember. The only crazy grades on the rail network are for construction purposes only. Road grades on highways were held to 4% or less, and they go up to 6 or 8% for normal surface roads. Some service roads are steep, but those are one-off situations that aren’t very long just for fire access.
Oh…and while I did separate passenger and freight rail traffic, I did run food & other supplies for cities on the passenger network since they already go into cities, making it easier to access warehouses there.
The highways on the map are not all built to “Interstate” standards…as there are numerous level junctions. I only built interchanges in a few places where I thought traffic could get dicey later on. Truthfully though, I don’t think highways are all that useful unless 1.) there are lots of personal cars and 2.) for long distance trips since overtaking slower trucks is pretty useful.
Your videos are inspiring. Thanks for this
Ответитьthat's the thing about this game, the base maps are absolutely huge for what you end up building
ОтветитьI wish I had the patience to do this with any of my cities
Ответитьa skylines pro is a noob in WS:SR ^^ automatically :D a noob with starting advantage
however, i feel like a noob myself in many places :D since the game has an incredible amount of aspects.
the lowered station is but ne good idea that I must steal ^-^ the industrial areas are also cool designed
Layout of lowered rail and a combination of rail+underpasses is something to really take from this.
What about it in electronics setup on your own map, Bballjo (if you will ever continue your S5)? TBH levelling that rail is not a big deal. Once you know the height difference of pedestrian walkways (12m? 15m?), you just do everything like you already do yourself. Long stretches you can do with dirty roads, just rais each end of section to height you want and then hold mouse button and you go. Takes some seconds, but doable. Similar with lowering - just hold "level on height" like you did with bridges over rives on your highway and boom - there you go!.
Those inclined birdges are really nice and smooth, I like that.
And, tbh, I don´t think he "just used" old cities in that big one in the end. Those mods are pretty easy to fins and plop and some of them were definitely built from scratch, the game iself hardly builds anything above 200 people, definitely not a city for 10k peeps :)
Wow. Cool republic. I wish I could build such an organic looking cities and roads. Like 👍🏻
ОтветитьI liked the orderliness of the rail lines/ I didn't see any spaghetti lines. There was very little stopping and starting. I agree with Lee in keeping the passenger and cargo lines as separate as possible so workers can get to their destinations and not teleport back home midway. And of course, the time spent leveling the roads/rails makes the map look so much better!
ОтветитьOMG conveyors!🤯
ОтветитьBeautiful job
Ответитьi play city skylines too, and Lee Hawkins is one of my favorite players that i follow to learn, Gotta say it, he did an amazing republic.
