Good work. It is absurd how inaccessible Porsche has made these engines.

I thought I would buy a Porsche 911 because it is my dream car, but after I watch this vid, I chanced my mind. I realized how stupid the engineering in terms of doing maintenances. I love Toyota more now just because how easy it is to maintain the car. I would spend my time doing better things,... This is absolutely crazy!!!

Great work! Subscribed. I have a 992 T coming next year and am trying to figure out what I will be able to do myself as P-Car maintenance at the dealer is expensive for the sake of being expensive.

Tommy, you're amazing. I loved all the angles you took with the camera to show how to do each thing, the music for the majority of the video gave that calm feel. I wasn't sure what to expect when I clicked on your video. I thought it was going to be the usual overhyped dude just talking about how awesome his 911 is.

No. I was wrong. You were geuine, and humble about working on it. I have always steered clear of exotics because of the maintenance being too tedious, expensive, or they have some propriertary tool designed specifically for one job, and you can't do it without it. You've showed me its just another car. Same principles, you just have to tear it into to learn it. Gives me hope to buy one one day. To that, you've earned my sub, thanks a bunch Tommy!

18,000 miles and you are putting new plugs in it, what for, spark plugs don't wear out with age, they wear out from mileage, don't be a sucker.

Tommy, you've truly nailed it with this insightful video on Porsche service maintenance! It's not just about the drive; it's about the longevity and reliability that come with proper servicing. Thanks for shedding light on this often overlooked aspect of owning a Porsche. Keep up the fantastic work, and I'm looking forward to more content like this!

Plastic oil pan and oil drain plug. Thank you VW Audi. YIKES!!!
Those OEM Porsche 911 wiper blades are good for any extra 5 HP each!!!

Please get rid of the hideous Digital Camo Roof Carrier with a hint of yellow. Still Violet's Porsche 911-T.

Nice brief video, tightly edited.
But those brake pads were barely worn. I would have left them.
Same with the spark plugs. I think I would have inspected and reinstalled. They're good for at least 40,000 miles, if not 60 or 80,000.
K & N filters don't work as well as stock paper filters.

Bosch aren't known for being consistent on pre-gapping. But also, if you gap your own spark plugs you can set them to a wider gap and get better performance from the engine. Yep, you might have 0.7 mm as standard, but apparently the best performance comes at 1.14 mm. It really does make a difference (Of course, if you gap them too wide, you'll notice misfires).

With regard to collecting the oil, all you had to do was unscrew the drain cap on the container to let air in and the oil would have started flowing into it.

two things. You shouldnt use straight dialectric grease. It needs to be dialectric / teflon compound BMW had it cheaper than porsche. Due to the heat from the proximity of the turbos, you need that type. Also you dont put it on the tip of the plug, you swab it on the inside 1 inch of the coil pack boot. That way the boot doesnt sieze on the porcelain. Also the bottom clamp of the turbo intake tubes are not to be reused. THis is all in the service manual

I am stoked that the algo brought your video to me. Although my 911 is not the same model. This video provided many details. I work on all my own cars which is the only reason I can own what I do, including custom cars.

And I thought working on my 997 was a pain. Porsche is really going backwards making it very hard for individuals to work on their own cars.

There was some oil on the old spark plugs threads, is this OK? Or is there a gasket leak

The 991.2 Carrera T may be the best bang for your buck sports car for the track...and street as well tbh. Great detail on the vacuum lines(bottom line).

Cool vid again!! Nothing like doing work on your own car ;-) rewarding...
One tip? Please get rid of the rubber line attaching the gas cap to your car. No Function and a lot of risk of banging the cap to your car.... There is handy spot where you can put it when filling up. And let's be honest, when was the last time you've dropped a gas cap... hahaha

Anyway, keep it up! love your videos!!
