Great review, Will and WhatCar team! It’s such an iconic machine - beautiful. Would be good to see a comparison of this model against a Cayman GTS 4.0....
ОтветитьI think your review is the most pratical one for practical persons like myself. Great great tips. Great review as well. i am eyeing this base model in basic Black color.
ОтветитьGreat video 👍🏽
Ответить👍👍👍
ОтветитьGreat video...thanks for making this. I am a big fan of entry level trims like this. They're still fast enough, and tend to handle better than their bigger trim level siblings. Though, with the 911 line, there are few heavy 911s.
ОтветитьInteresting how once you've done sufficient research from the Porsche websites and the countless 'experts' and press wallers online you realise that many of them don't know what they are advising you on.
1. Keyless entry puts your car at risk from high tec thrives
Launch control is on all 992 models - you just set it differently without sports crono
Etc, ect, etc
Otherwise a good review.
I got a 911 turbo and its my dream car i was wondering if i change it with an electronic new Porsche and i ask a relative to let me drive with his but man it's no even close to my car the vibe and the excitement that driving my car gives me is beyond any e-car i promise myself to re new my car every 5 yrs and it won't be electronic ever
ОтветитьAre those seats with the full leather available on the base 992 in the US? Don’t see it on the configurator. It’s a nice spec, especially for no additional charge.
ОтветитьShitty review, It is not sporttex but racetex, it does have launch control without sport chrono.
ОтветитьAs a potential buyer I really appreciate this video.
ОтветитьMany experts prefer the 911 S for the Dynamic Chassis Control but personally I have had zero issues driving the entry level 911 in rain/snow just by clicking the Wet button. The S specs out for 25K more and you don’t really need it. FYI if you really want to go fast avoid the Turbo S and just buy the faster ludicrous Tesla plaid!!!
ОтветитьPorsche dealers Annapolis MD
ОтветитьMy son is 12, average size, and he has no problems sitting in the rear seats.
ОтветитьI nought the 2020 718 Spyder instead of the 911 as it far more practical. Cheers!
ОтветитьThere's no link at the top of the screen
ОтветитьDrove the 991s for a while when it was rather new. What I’ve realized skimming through comments on videos like this, is that so many mistakingly thinks that the Carrera is a sports car. It’s a GT wagon, and a darn good one!
Judged as a sports car it’s underpowered, feels heavy and lack feedback (compared to Lotus, GT-series Porches etc). As a GT wagon though, it’s frikking brilliant!
The 911 will always be one of the ugliest sports cars ever made... for that alone I would pick the F-type
ОтветитьGreat car ... thanks
ОтветитьEXCELLENT REVIEW !
ОтветитьExcellent review!
ОтветитьFirst-rate informative review.
ОтветитьWatching this car spin out uncontrollably and having to pay $100,000 is ridiculous. I would take a model 3 performance which runs a second and a half faster to 60 and will not spend a tire and put all the power in the ground and handle just as well on the track.
ОтветитьLove those simple alloy wheels. Gives it more of an old school sports car feel.
ОтветитьThis model is bad, the speedometer and the cam shaft is different from the s version, on the dnyo the performance loss on the high end.
ОтветитьBest presenter
ОтветитьCheap interior headlining and sun visors
More Renault Quality than Porsche imho
i have the base 2021 carrera (without sports chrono package) and it has launch control reving up to 4000 RPMs . . you sure the 2022 does not?
ОтветитьLovely review
ОтветитьHad a 1990 5 speed four wheel drive carrea, great in the snow and ice, mountains, night here in heavy traffic as a daily driver
ОтветитьI drove one back to back on a track with a V10 R8 … I came away bitterly disappointed by the Audi (which was no more fun to drive than a 5series BMW … ) but the 911 .. wow ! Just wow ! You could tell it was lighter than the Audi and so much nicer to steer and helm.
ОтветитьAmazing vehicle (minus the wheel being on the wrong side)
ОтветитьGreat video!!!!!
ОтветитьBasic trim here in Australia we pay AU$280,00 thanks to the government luxury tax of AU$80,000. Thank you government. I can buy a whole car with that 80K.
ОтветитьPorsche makes an absolute killing on these options, it doesn't cost them much more to produce an S but look at the price delta. Buy VWAGY stock. I'm sticking with 650 American hp for now (ZL1, and yes it turns better lap times)
ОтветитьBet you could sell after market metal door handles, with the Porsche logo on it. :)
ОтветитьAnyone notice how every time someone talks about a car they always say “this is the best (___)car selling on the marks”
Ответитьsooo boring as all porsche
ОтветитьGreat review, I love the 992
ОтветитьWear a mic next time please, I had this at full volume and was still straining to hear
ОтветитьI just ordered a 2022. Takes a year to get because of the circuit board shortage.
ОтветитьIn my experience the light weight noise insulating glass cuts down dramatically on road noise. Very easy to have a conversation or listen to music with that.
ОтветитьThat sport-tex interior is not free, atleast not in sweden.
ОтветитьEagerly waiting for 911, 2022.
Ответить911 gets more boring as the years go by. Nothing like the old air cooled 911s
ОтветитьGreat review.
ОтветитьThis is not a 2022 model but a 2020 which is now 2 model years behind your video tag. False video tagging to get more YT clicks. Bad form.
ОтветитьI like your approach to reviewing this car. As a driver that will drive it in everyday situations realistically. By that I mean...having a lot of the available tech and the ability of the soon to be released 2022 GT3 is for most pointless. 99 percent of 911's will not be pushed. Owners won't have the skill or know how. And the cars will spend their lives in stop and go traffic. So while 911's are considered the best handling sports cars...only performance most will enjoy is straight line 0 to 60 MPH performance. Safely. So perhaps the TURBO cars are still worth buying if one can. GT cars are the cars meant for real world driving for any one with the money to buy a 911.
Or maybe more honestly the Carrera S is the "most 911" any one needs. Honestly. Too bad its not available with a naturally aspirated engine.
I heard the 2022 GT3 will have a self parking feature. One that would allow the driver to step out of his car, press a button on the fOB or smartphone app...and the car will park itself. Perpendicular and parallel. Didn't the base Carrera have this feature?
Looking at this video makes me miss the old days where I own a 991.1. That feeling of driving up and down the mountain roads in the San Jose mountain range and the breeze of the California air. Really reminds me of how awesome a 911 can be.
ОтветитьLeather on dash is an option.
