We visited in 2019 and, while out walking around the city, we accidentally got off course and stumbled into the Tenderloin. What we witnessed—was extremely shocking and scary—but does not even compare to how bad it is now by these reports and footage. We were so grateful to find our way out of the area safely. So very sad this is playing out all over our country. So tragic the countless loss of lives.

I am not expert on addiction but if there is hope for these people, it's not the just police that need to get more funding but also people who know how to get them and keep them out of this state. But for drugs I don't blame the politician. First it's the demand and than the supply at fault. Just like with everything else

this is what Duterte was worried about. drugs were used before to corrupt societies like the opium given to china and cocaine to the black communities/minorities. it didn't seem like a problem when Duterte said 3-4 million were addicts but remember that Philippines is a small country. he was worried for the next generation. a drug addict will become a drug pusher to have money & keep their addiction unless they're rich. we're a developing country. imagine if this continues for a long time here. Not to mention that he was also fighting corruption within the government because it seems some politicians were drug pushers or drug lords with corrupt cops in their payroll.

With the retirement of police officers, civil servants and financial fraud investigators, there was no one to keep an eye on.. 65 years after 1943, the baby boomers retreated.
