It’s going to be an unpopular opinion, especially from a long time red bull fan, but Oscar is far better suited for championship than Lando. Oscar is far more stable mentally than Lando, which is a shame coz Lando is a really good driver. Well, let’s hope for an exiting championship!
ОтветитьOh hell yeah, post race video ❤️
ОтветитьDo you believe the hype that the Red Bull team & Max will not win another race this season as they will not resolve the tire management gremlin that is currently holding them back?
Please refer to the 2023 AZERBAIJAN race results where Checo won, was Max P2 with LeClerc in P3 was 22 seconds off the lead & Lando was 80 seconds behind the leader as a cross reference.
I think McLaren need to get off the fence and sit down and say it straight to
Oscar. We will swap you if you are ahead because Land is closer to the drivers championship than you.
Having said that, if Lando hadn't left a gap for Oscar to dive into it wouldn't have been necessary. And McLaren did undercut Oscar with Lando twice during the race and still Lando couldn't catch him. Sooo 🤷
It kind of makes me wonder whether Mark Webber put a clause in Oscar's contract about being a number two driver. Because surely McLaren aren't that thick. Who knows
Oscar’s pass was awesome (and better for the fans watching), but I think it cost them the race. If they had stayed in order and calmly went around, Leclerc would have likely remained in third. And if Oscar had misplaced that car even fractionally differently then he did (a testament to his skill for sure), both cars could have been out. They really need to get to work on the papaya rules not being more like Banana rules.
I’d be so upset if I was Lando, that the team hasn’t been putting their faith in his ability to challenge the championship before now, especially after literal years of waiting for the car to be better.
I was genuinely impressed by Colapinto (sp? It's 1:15am...). He did as asked (points could well come by the end of the season, depending on the car's performance), wasn't the worst in qually and finished within a reasonable time of his point-scoring, and by now pretty experienced team mate. And to be fair, he hasn't cost Williams anything other than typical running costs of a race weekend.
I wish the young lad every success. This performance alone may have opened some doors to other teams (eh hem, Audi...).

Post race videos are a big yes. Love it
ОтветитьLet them race, plenty of races left. Piastri has been driving sensational.
ОтветитьK-mag has been one of my favorite drivers ... he goes full 'hammer and tongs' every time out ... i hope he gets a fortunate win somehow before his time is up ... i think the penalty points were a bit harsh ... but i believe in Singapore he will let loose the dogs of war and drive like a man possessed 😆HaHa ... i am going to miss him next year
Ответитьadd Kimi to the Losers list, way to bin it in the first 10 mins of FP1
ОтветитьThis was the best result for formula one
ОтветитьYes, a Wednesday morning video lets gooooo
ОтветитьPiastri should get Perez's seat, he's already helping Max more.
Ответитьi get the feeling that Piastri has his managers chip on his shoulder tbh.
ОтветитьRace was lost by McLaren. All the talk is about McLaren not prioritising Norris, yet they threw the win by prioritising Norris in strategy yet again. Piastri was asked on the radio to cover off the 1 stop strategy by going long & managing the tyres on the first stint. So he kept Charles in drs the first 10 laps to manage the tyres - then started using the tyre advantage pulling 0.6 seconds away a lap, going from 1 sec ahead to over 4 secs laps 11-15. Unfortunately McLaren pitted Norris way too early for undercutting Charles & forced Piastri to react to Charles - throwing away the tyre life Piastri had been deliberately asked to build & effectively forcing both drivers onto a 2 stop strategy. Then again on lap 31 Norris flat spots, goes into the gravel & drops from 3 secs to 5 secs behind Piastri with Leclerc on his gearbox. Rather than hold Leclerc up for 2 to 3 laps before pitting they pit Norris early again releasing Charles into fresh air (helping their rival). This also forced Oscar to have to decide on the 1 or 2 stop way too early so he reacts to the fight with his teammate rather than the fight with the Ferrari. Should have been an easy win for Piastri & most likely a 1-2 if they had done what they would have done if the roles were reversed - no way they would compromise Norris strategy by pitting Oscar that early. Norris has had number 1 status the whole season & received priority strategy but everyone ignores it because they are allowed to race. The whole reason the Hungary situation arose was because they prioritised protecting Lando from Lewis (in case they had an 8 second pitstop) over letting the lead car determine when to pit & Oscar having a comfortable rather than embarrassing win. Lando received the upgraded package in Miami first, they left Oscar out in the rain, Oscar has not been allowed to undercut an opponent before Lando has pitted etc etc
Lando has received priority treatment all season, which he should as the more seasoned & more likely driver to challenge for the title this year. I just want people to stop acting like this hasn’t been happening. The question you want to ask Sean is if it’s now time for McLaren to ask Oscar to stop racing Lando. Personally not yet - but once it was clear Oscar wasn’t getting Charles that last lap swapping the drivers should have occurred as a no-brainer. Although they also shouldn’t have thrown away Oscars win by prioritising Norris’ weird strategy on that important first stint. Team orders/strategy may have lost Lando 10 points so far but it’s cost Oscar over 25 points by being given second priority on strategy, he’s just allowed to race is all which stops him being a full number 2.
Tsunoda had to be this weekends biggest loser though by no fault of his own. Terrible "upgrades" then Hulk torpedoes him for takes him out.
ОтветитьIt was a Ferrari win fair and square. On paper the fastest road to victory was with a one stopper and McLaren couldn't do that and match the pace of the Ferrari.
ОтветитьChance de Bearman pontuar por duas equipes diferentes na mesma temporada
ОтветитьThey should prioritise lando of course, he's close to max, closer than anyone has been in the last 2 years
ОтветитьSean, Is Kimi Antonelli a loser if only for crashing within 10 minutes of FP1. Sure he's can't really make the list but I reckon he's pushing it, there again with the news that he is driving for Merc in 2025 that could put him on the Winners list !!.
ОтветитьCall me strange. Call me mad. But my suggestion is McLaren FIRE Piastri and hire Logan Sergeant. Thus, we have a dutiful No.2 who's also fond of making changes to circuits.
ОтветитьI can understand why McLaren probably should prioritize Norris, but if I was Piastri there is no way I’d be letting that happen when there isn’t a massive points gap between them
ОтветитьThey should have prioritized Lando long ago.. might be too late now, but that is all McLarens fault
ОтветитьStill can’t believe McLaren out-Ferrari’d Ferrari with their strategy this weekend 🤦🏻♂️😂🤦🏻♂️
ОтветитьNo I dont think Mclaren should prioritize Lando, he has not definitively proven he's a serious title challenger.
ОтветитьPerspective is important. Magnussen didnt get a race Ban. He got a 1 week vacation for his hard work getting Haas a point at Monza.
ОтветитьMcLaren needs and must finally start backing Lando for the WDC.
I don't know, nor understand of what the team is afraid of, to not do it.
Looks like Lando should call Ron asking him to have a work with Zak tbh lol
2019 IS SO BACK
ОтветитьGreat video. What seems to be more and more apparent is how important and how much the car contributes to the driver. Especially when that car may be designed for that driver. I think last year some commented on making it more competitive with something like " Put the first place driver in the last place car " Seems that is is hard to beat first class engineering even when you may be the best driver. Good engineering certainly narrows the field in the front with McClaren, Ferrari, and now Mercedes leaving it to strategy and driving.
ОтветитьHold up is it 2018/2019????? I’m I in a time vortex????? LFG!! 🔥 love from the lone star state as always!!!
ОтветитьPrioriize the driver who has the most points. That would be Lando.
ОтветитьMagnussen only has a handful of races left of his Formula 1 career, and they give him a race ban for practically no reason... tsk tsk... Hulkenberg, however, Torpedoes it into the side of Tsunoda and the FIA 🙈
ОтветитьI do think McLaren need to prioritise Lando, and they should’ve done it this race. It’s going to be tough for Lando to overturn Max’s lead, but it is possible and whilst that’s the case (and they look very good for the constructors) they need to maximise Lando’s points, especially when Max has a bad weekend like he did. I wouldn’t expect many more races where Max doesn’t finish on the podium so it’s important to gain as many points over him as possible if Lando is to stand a chance
ОтветитьOooooh, I like this, it's a very good content idea. Who would have thought we'd live to see Sean make a videos AFTER the weekend. Keep it up!👍
ОтветитьA return to more frequent content is always appreciated!
My answer to your question: Mathematically it makes more sense for McLaren to only focus on the Constructor's championship (they are not only way closer in terms of points but also considering the fact that the team as a whole can score 44 points per race as opposed to only 26 points for one driver), but considering they have historically struggled with dealing with two #1 drivers in the team (something which has been proven again this year), I think it's in their best interest to prioritise Lando in the Driver's championship, so to secure a 1-4 result on Sunday as opposed to a 2-3 or a 3-4 result (which also yields more points for the Constructor's).
On Ferrari, I hope they don't continue to flip-flop in terms of their pit strategy, such as putting wet tires on a dry track or vice versa, as they have the momentum now to gun for the Constructor's championship themselves. Here's hoping for a 3-horse WCC race come the end of the season
Norris has now given up 9 points due to Maclaren's refusal to make team calls. Might not seem like much now, but Norris is only 60 points behind Max. The end of the season is now 9 points closer for Max.
ОтветитьSean, great to see more content on the channel. P.S i think you need to update the williams drivers in the description 😀
ОтветитьFerrari's strategy was on a different planet (F1) this race.
ОтветитьGreat content as always Sean 👍. Keep up the great work 😀
ОтветитьPost race videos? Lets gooooooooo !!!
