One thing not mentioned is the radius on the '64 neck is 7.25" and the custom shop probably a flatter 9.5",
this really helps keeping the action lower with no buzzing out when bending notes.
I had an original '64 black strat but sadly sold it, my sunburst 1998 custom shop '62 strat is so good I don't miss my old '64 though.
64 all day
ОтветитьRelics are good for the clumsy. Dent it and be like oh well matches the rest of the look.
Ответитьboth are great but ill stick with my 58 Gibson double cut jr with the dogear P90
ОтветитьI thought the Custom Shop guitar actually sounded better.
ОтветитьWhat's the price difference ? I n a practical sense , one is to play the other is to look at.
ОтветитьHi, Dave Grohl.
ОтветитьThe CS is horrendously ugly, and did not sound as good - bigger, more presence - as the vintage. And of course the vintage looks incredible. But the better playability of the CS is a compelling reason to go that route.
ОтветитьSignal chain please?
ОтветитьYou guys done good here!
ОтветитьDaMMMMMM!
ОтветитьYou should do a comparison between two guitars and not say what they are at all. Play them both and then reveal what they are and talk about them.
The prejudiced opinion is just impossible to ignore.
The original sunburst strat looks great!
ОтветитьI’ve always said that the typical Strat players were Homeless. I turn this video on for vindication.
ОтветитьStrats might sound better if everyone that picked one up didn’t do a shitty thin buzzy version of srv covering jimi.
That was a joke. The strat would still sound like a walmart product.
Great video. Yes at this time I’m having some coffee with my favorite Casino! 😊 coffee and Casino! Great combination.
ОтветитьRelic-ing seems stupid and fake to me. Like putting scratches on a brand new pickup truck to pretend you've driven across America on an awesome road trip. Guitars look lovely when shiny and new and it's up to you to put miles on it over a decade
ОтветитьI have a 78 strat with a Dimarzio SD in the bridge position, a Mexican 93 with a Dimarzio SD in the bridge slot, with Floyd Rose, and a 64 Custom shop arriving soon, that I won in an auction for 368 bucks.
ОтветитьWhich amp did you guys use to play em through, it sounded great!
Ответитьwhich amp was used for this ? amazing demos for both video lads!
ОтветитьYou guys talk way too much ...let's hear the guitar..
ОтветитьThey are individuals. I have a 64 that is rather light.
ОтветитьWhat's the amp?
ОтветитьWow the custom shop sounds like crap compared to the real deal! I was expecting a difference but that is shocking
ОтветитьVintage Strat I could tell without seeing which one was being played. No contest.
ОтветитьI just picked up a Custom Shop LE '63 Strat from Carters, and OH MY GOD this is the best guitar I have ever played. Not just best Strat, best guitar! 10/10, will save up and get another Fender Custom Shop guitar!
ОтветитьDid I hear some Cash on those? 🎸🖤🔥
ОтветитьI liked the vintage ‘64 with the overdrive but preferred the CS ‘63 clean.
ОтветитьAre those songs he played on the guitars? Sounded real nice
Ответить64 sound awesome. which strings did (do) you set them up with? pure nickel? the bass-side of the pickups seem to be further out than the treble side...thanks
ОтветитьCustom shop can't touch a real one.
ОтветитьNo comparison, in my mind. The 64 sounds incredible.
ОтветитьIve owed a 64 strat for 20 yrs and enjoy growing in time with it. But to be honest my 55 tele is just as enjoyable. Rock On...
ОтветитьVery late to this, but this is one of the best examples of what a ‘60 - ‘65 vintage Strat should sound like. It’s different class.
ОтветитьThe Custom Shop is great, but it just does not compare to the '64. Amazing to HEAR the difference. I wonder what it FEELS like in the room 🤩
ОтветитьLike somebody just sh*t a toupé on the dude's head. Much like the fake-old Strat ... it's certainly an aesthetic.
ОтветитьRelic? Heavy Relic?
To me, It's a mental disease.
Build a thin lacquer, resonant wood, well built guitar, nice pickups, as you like it...
But please, not Relic.
Nowadays every good luthier can build a fine guitar.
All the rest is insane-market-related.
Does joe satriani with a new guitar every day have a bad sound poor of harmonics? It isn't so.
I have checked many guitars. Relic, Vintage , New-ones.
You have lots of money? You have money? Buy a vintage or a custom shop, if that guitar is good for you. They are not necessarily better than a new and less expensive.
Trust your ear. If you are a good player with a GOOD amp and a good guitar (not necessarily expensive), your sound will be ok.
Mad prices.. It is the market.. Offer/Request..
both really great ...
not so long ago I was lucky enough to play a couple of 50's Strats , 56 and a 58 ... I was very excited to play them, after I came to the conclusion it felt just like a Strat I was left feeling a little deflated, I dont know what I was expecting lol ... I remember thinking that my CS felt just as good if not better . . .
I agree fender CS is pretty good ..
The Brazilian dark rosewood on the 64 with its naturally aged wood pickups degaussing..u can’t fake real age
ОтветитьYou cant get better than the custom shop, they get the best from the past and make it better
ОтветитьThat old Strat is one of the most beautiful sounding Strats I’ve ever heard in my life ….. holy smokes!! Great playing too !!! Some of the better chops I’ve seen Baxter throw down !! Haha great stuff , love the channel guys!
ОтветитьHow much for the 1963?
ОтветитьAmazing instruments! Not comparable though, because one is Ash body( custom shop 63') where the original 64 is alder I guess. I really believe that the correct contender for the original 64' should be an alder body custom shop 🙂, but with that said they both sound amazing. Alder bodies have this exciting pick in the upper mids where the ash bodies sound more "flatt' with more lower mids ( not so exciting depending on the gain settings)
ОтветитьThe 64 head and shoulders above the custom shop. Wow what a guitar.
ОтветитьI am literally about to go to my buddies house and play his 1961 slab board original, against the 1961 special Bad Brothers custom shop reissue… Through his 59 deluxe. I’ll let you know!
ОтветитьThe Brazilian rosewood makes all the difference , how unfortunate you can't get it anymore
Ответить
